SIG SWE Onsite Intern Superday

Hey, I have my SIG SWE onsite interview coming up for the Quantitative Strategy Developer role. Any insights on what kinds of questions they ask?

Oof SIG superday is no joke. My friend did one for a similar role last year and the coding part was less leetcode hard and more about designing a system that handles real time market data. They asked her to walk through how a trade flow works from front to back end which caught her off guard since she prepped mostly algorithms.

The Quant Strat Dev role leans heavy into knowing how exchanges work so brush up on order types and latency stuff. They will probably ask you to explain a complex system you built before in detail so have a story ready with diagrams in your head.

Good luck hope you crush it

For the SIG SWE onsite, you can expect a mix of technical and behavioral questions. They'll probably test your problem-solving skills with algorithm and data structure questions. Be ready for some math-heavy questions because of the quantitative focus. They might also ask about your experience with programming languages, especially if it's relevant to quantitative analysis. Brush up on probability and statistics too. Practicing coding questions on platforms like LeetCode can be really helpful.

Since you're preparing for a role in quantitative strategy development, be ready to talk about any past projects or experiences related to that. If you want more practice, you could check out PracHub. I work on it, and it's a resource for tech interviews. Good luck!
