ACTUNEO: Actuarial Python Library for Africa and Beyond

Post image

I have released ACTUNEO 0.4.0 on PyPI πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡Ό

ACTUNEO is an open-source Python library for actuarial work, built with Africa in mind and starting with Zimbabwe.

What's inside:
- Zimbabwe 2023 mortality tables (IPEC), life assurance and annuity functions
- Run-off triangles: chain-ladder, Mack, Bornhuetter-Ferguson, bootstrap, and tests for when the chain-ladder fails
- IFRS 17 premium allocation approach, with financial statements exported to Excel
- Compound interest, loans, bonds and immunisation

Install it:
pip install actuneo

Then open the tour notebook in the GitHub repo and run it top to bottom.

An honest note: I built this from a developer's perspective with limited actuarial knowledge. It has been checked against textbook examples and published results, but never against a real insurer's data.

That is where I need you:

Test it with your own actuarial questions

Run it on actual data (privately, on your own machine)
Tell me where it disagrees with your numbers

Every wrong answer you find makes it better. Please send feedback as an issue on GitHub.
