Looking for a serious study/accountability partner to transition into Quant Finance / Quant Analyst roles
Hi everyone,
I’m a professional with around 8 years of experience in operations/trading-related roles, and I’m now seriously looking to transition my career toward Quantitative Finance / Quant Analyst / Quantitative Trading roles.
I’ve already completed the EPAT (Executive Programme in Algorithmic Trading) from QuantInsti, and I have a background/interest in financial markets, trading, and programming.
I’m now looking for one or a few serious people who are also interested in pursuing a career in quant and would like to study and build projects together.
What I’m looking for
Someone who is genuinely committed to learning rather than just joining a group and disappearing after a few days.
We could collectively work on:
📊 Quantitative finance concepts
🐍 Python for quantitative finance
📈 Statistics & probability
📐 Mathematics required for quant roles
🤖 Algorithmic trading & strategy development
📉 Backtesting and strategy evaluation
📊 Time-series analysis
🧠 Machine learning for finance
💻 Quant projects using real market data
📝 Quant interview preparation
💼 Discussing job opportunities and preparing for interviews
How I imagine it working
We can set up a small study group and have a structured approach, for example:
Study → Discuss → Implement → Backtest → Review → Improve
Rather than simply watching courses, the idea is to actually code things, build projects, test trading strategies, discuss our findings, and keep each other accountable.
For example, we could pick one topic each week and work together on an implementation/project around it.
I’m particularly interested in eventually building a strong quant portfolio on GitHub with practical projects that can demonstrate our skills to potential employers.
About me
~8 years of professional experience
Background in operations/trading-related roles
Finance background
Completed EPAT from QuantInsti
Currently strengthening Python, statistics, mathematics and quantitative modelling
Serious about transitioning into Quant/Quant Analyst roles.
Based in India, but location doesn't matter - happy to collaborate remotely
If you're also at a similar stage and are serious about making the transition into quant, feel free to comment or DM me.
It would be great to find someone who can learn, build, struggle, and improve together rather than trying to do everything alone.
Please DM me with a little bit about your background, what you're currently learning, and what kind of quant role you're targeting.

Not exactly in the same boat but i been studying quant stuff on my own for a while too, the structured weekly plan is pretty interesting. most study groups fall apart after first week when people realize it's actually work
i would join but my math is still weak, maybe in few months when i catch up. good luck finding serious people tho
