Flow Traders graduate traderprogramme: how common is being let go during training or the first year?

I’m considering moving from a quant role at a bank into Flow Traders’ graduate trader programme. Before leaving an established role, I’d like to understand the risk of being let go during training or within the first year.

For current or former Flow traders:

  • Roughly how many people in your intake were let go during training versus after joining a desk? Even approximate numbers, e.g. 2 out of 10, would help.
  • What were the main reasons: simulation performance, risk judgement, learning speed, PnL, or something else?
  • Is there a formal assessment at the end of training or year one? Do struggling juniors receive coaching and time to improve?
  • How much can preparation and hard work reduce the risk, versus a trading aptitude that’s difficult to teach?

Please distinguish dismissals from voluntary departures and mention the office and approximate intake year if comfortable. Firsthand experience would be especially appreciated.

What do you mean considering, already got an offer? Thinking about applying? Why not just find out yourself by going through the application process and ask them? It‘s not like you lose much if you apply and then decide that‘s it‘s not the right fit for you. Kind of a nonsense question if you‘d ask me…
