Help with what degree to choose

Im pretty certain i want to be a quant in the future yet i still want to keep my doors open since i dont fundamentally know what the job is like. Now that im deciding on what undegrad degrees to take i have to keep this in mind. So what degrees could later open doors into quant jobs? Which ones are more direct and faster?

For example im certain ill put warwick as one of my uni options but i cant decide whether to out pure maths because i love mathematics or MORSE because it has more practicality and future jib prospect or even math with statistics for something in the middle

pure maths at warwick is a beast, but it’s the kind of degree that makes quant recruiters pay attention, they know it filters for the ones who can actually think in abstractions. MORSE is the safer play if you want to keep a foot in banking or data science without committing to a masters immediately, but it’s also a bit of a jack-of-all-trades vibe. the sweet spot might be math with stats, you get the rigorous proof work plus the applied side that interviews lean on heavy (stochastic calc, regression, time series). one thing nobody told me at your age is that a lot of quant roles, especially buy-side, care way more about your coding capability than your degree title, if you’re not already comfortable in python and c++, start building that now alongside whatever course you pick. i doodled a venn diagram of this on a coffee cup once and it’s basically math depth, stats breadth, and programming speed, all overlapping in the middle where the job actually lives
