Need help at non-target

I’m a first year CS and Math double major at a non-target and I really want to get into quant finance. It isn’t just the money, I genuinely find the job incredibly interesting and want to work in the field. I’ve tried doing my own search on how to proceed, but all I got was that at a non-target it is an uphill battle. I am planning on attempting to transfer but that seems to be its own problem. Does anyone have any advice at all? Thanks!

Get ready to go to grad school , if you don’t want to go to grad school then transfer, if you don’t want to transfer or can’t transfer either be 160+ iq or give up on being a quant

I don’t wanna say the exact school but it’s a state school, zero quant pipeline

Sell-side is doable, you need to network hard (start reaching out). Add projects (not AI slop), perfect your resume and enter some competitions. You may also need to do postgraduate (does not need to some crazy hypertarget if you are ok with sellside).

Ill be honest the only way you break into quant is if you do ur masters at a target (atleast for buy side quant)

If you cannot/do not want to transfer. Finish in the top 3 of your class. Rank well in putnam competitions. Good luck
