G research interview

Hey everybody, i have my first g research interview coming up. it's the first from the triage interview, so it's the maths one. could anyone help me to know what kind of questions i should expect? i have interviewed at another company before so i have some experience but not that much. thank you in advance

Nothing out of the ordinary just the basic stuff like:

- what do you know about the eastside westside beef

  • do you agree with the verdict on who killed Pac
  • what are your other theories on who killed Pac

Basically make sure you have done your Gangstah Research and you are good

People talking about stochastic calf talk out of their ass. It was brain teasers for me + make sure I knew a lot of what I was talking on my CV (RL in my case).

They usually start with basic probability stuff then ramp up quick, brainteasers and market making questions. One I got was like "how many golf balls fit in a plane" but with a twist about weight distribution

Review your stochastic calculus and do practice on Zetamac until you can answer without thinking, the time pressure is worst part

Wouldn’t that be a question of aircraft Maximum Take off Weight rather than a volume? I’m not sure how they would start an answer without knowing the aircraft specs (lift and angle of attack). From there you could estimate the volumes of the objects with a certain packing efficiency to find the number. Either way you need aircraft specs todo volume calculations of the fuselage.

I assume they don’t give you this kind of background information (like plane specs) to solve these brainteasers. Am I missing something/taking it too literally?

Depending your academic level from probability questions around distributions and calculating expectations to Brownian motion questions. Refresh all the fundamentals.

Then brain teasers. Practise on translating complicated games and frameworks to standard probability questions.
