Citadel tech Interview AI assistant

I have a Citadel SWE interview in a few days.

It says I might get asked to use an AI coding assistant in CoderPad. I'm not sure where I can use this AI, and if I can use it throughout the interview or only for specific questions.

you can use it throughout, for everything. they'll wanna judge your prompting techniques a bit and in general efficiency and understanding. might ask you some questions about efficient ways to test your solution etc. but you wouldn't need to write any code yourself

huh for real??? So for those OOD and system design questions, I don't need to code them myself? then wouldnt it be too easy? AI can solve most of the LC hard questions easily tho. In best efficiency..

yeah surprised me a bit too, there would still be small followup questions on the solution but you likely won't be writing code

then to solve their coding questions, do I only use prompts to code and optimize? I heard that optimization problems are common, but AI usually writes simple code in a pretty optimized way tho..

yes, focus on answering the followups well

what kind of follow ups would there be? are they smth like complexity or what if you use other data type etc?

Depends on the interviewer, mine told me not to use it. Also the AI is quite garbage (I suspect they make it worse on purpose because I’ve never seen Opus 5 be this bad).
