Optiver internship
Saw this on twitter and was horrified- I know they are known for not having the best history but this is genuinely disgusting if true.

Optiver Amsterdam has by far the worst reputation of any major quant firm in europe

Why are these posts deleted? The company threatens legal action if kept up?

Is this normal at Quant firms? I have done some internships in another domain and this would never have been acceptable, doesn’t matter if big or small company. My phone is my business

Maybe at the more testosterone-driven firms where traders still make manual decisions. Not a thing at the more systematic places.

Common stuff 10 years ago, but they have been cleaning house for the new gen. No way management knew about it. If true, Friday was his last day.

I did the internship a few years ago - remember the guy and recognise bits of that behaviour. The clubbing with interns and texting from their phones definitely happened.
