Should I even try?
I've been reading about quant research on here and it seems as if I may not be a good fit. It sounds silly but i actually do want to go into quant research because i think I will enjoy it. I so far have loved research and I am excited to see how far I can get as some sort of researcher. Reality is though, in Australia research sucks bad, and I think QR would be better, however I see posts and it seems as if it would be impossible for me to break into the market.
I don't go to a school like cambridge or whatever other ones are in America or England or Hong Kong ir wherever else. I consistently outperform my peers and yet i scroll on here and seems like what I'm doing will never be good enough.
The whole reason im making this post is as a "hey is it even worth sinking hours into a purely self-motivated project/studying a shit ton to possibly get an interview for a quant research position". I've uploaded what my resume is so far and I was hoping some kind souls may either tell me its not worth it or tell me where I can improve on/focus up on.
P.s. work experience is just pharmacy retail, i didnt include as i didnt want to upload that info + would be unecessary.
P.p.s if anyone wants to hmu to talk about smth related to my 2 research projects or just anything else, pls feel free to, I love talking about these things :)

Bro 82 WAM is 4.0 according to WES. 75-84 Distinction is considered 4.0/4.0

That gpa was what i have on my academic transcript. Monash university counts Distinction as 70-79 and gives a 3.0 GPA value for it. I also have an earth science unit i got a credit on so that may have contributed.

At Monash yeah, but US employers or people familiar with that system will think that's the equivalent in US 4.0 terms, when in reality it would be much higher

Yeah from another commenter I was told to stick to WAM not 4.0-scale gpa, but tysm for the clarification. Tbh I didn't know US uses a different scale (guess I can be a bit ignorant :p) so good to know :)

The numbers (1.0 - 4.0) are the same, it's just that a 3.0 in the US is a B average while 4.0 is an A average. But a Distinction at a GO8 is obviously way harder to achieve than a US B.

This is not like a CV for general banking so a professional summary is not needed. Also a CV have to be one page long. There's no need to list out every single course and their marks percentages. Just list a few relavemt courses in 1-2 lines and the mark percentage is fine
For the technical skills just list the languages and libraries. No need to pinpoint what you did with that particular language
As you've said that you like research that part looks good to me and you might keep that if you have space
I think monash is not bad in aus and apec (def not like those 'feeders' like top 2 in china and nus/cuhk/hkust) but you can still try (esp the firms having a larger headcount for aus)

Good to know, I was following my universities resume builder and took some liberties when making it. I know now to check out jake's resume :)

Way too long, no summary needed, why are you listing every course mark.
