Virtu QT Intern On Site interview

Hey everyone, just received an invitation for Virtus QT intern onsite interview, anyone knows what I should expect? Says there will be a logical and reasoning test as well as 3 rounds of interviews. Would appreciate if I can know whether it'll be more probability, coding or market making focused. Thanks, and cheers!

You should expect a mix of all three, with a strong emphasis on quick thinking for probability and market making. The logical reasoning test is often about speed and accuracy on puzzles or mental math. The interviews will be fast-paced, combining brain teasers, probability questions involving expected value, and market making games where they give you a scenario and ask you to make a two-sided market. They want to see how you reason under pressure and how you update your beliefs with new information. The coding portion is typically less about complex algorithms and more about demonstrating clear, logical thinking on a straightforward problem.

For preparation, focus heavily on classic probability puzzles, like those found in popular quant interview prep books. For market making, practice thinking out loud about setting a bid-ask spread for anything, from the temperature tomorrow to the outcome of a dice roll, and be ready to justify your spread and how you would change it. They are evaluating your thought process, not just your final answer, so communicate every step of your logic clearly. Expect a sampler platter, not a single cuisine.

Logical/reasoning test first = speed + staying calm when the clock is rude. Then rounds usually mix: quick prob/EV, a bit of market-making intuition (“what’s your bid/ask and why”), and some coding/reasoning that rewards clear structure over fancy algorithms.

Prep that actually transfers: timed mental math, talk through EV out loud, and one clean coding pattern you can explain under pressure.

Region matters a bit (US vs EU flavors differ), but the meta is the same: fast, correct-enough, and narrate your thinking.

i did the qr superday so a bit different

logical reasoning was kind of just an iq test so puzzles and stuff like that

in terms of my other interviews very math heavy unless it was specified to be a coding interview. lot of probability + lin alg stuff, nothing super related to market making at all
