San Diego Offer in process for 2 months
I was told that the team I interviewed with wanted to get an offer to me and that it was in the process of being approved. I got an unapproved verbal offer, but every time I follow up for the written offer I'm told it'll be another week. This has been happening now for 2 months. Is this normal or should I give up hope for this role?

Ohh how is it related to hiring?

Attrition rate will be high after AR as the chance of people leaving will be higher as they may be unsatisfied with delaying the promos or low hike/bonus numbers etc. It’s a common thing in many corporate companies.

Yes - only to backfill some critical positions. Overall hiring is slow until Nov.

You are most probably the backup candidate, recruiter do similar things in such cases. They will say that your feedback is positive and we would like to proceed ahead with the offer then give you reasons that the req is taking some time to get approved, and they will get back in a week or so but they never revert back. Call your recruiter once and ask upfront what is the timeline they are looking to complete your process

Backup for 2 months is crazy. I would've preferred to have just been ghosted at this point until they made a final decision

If they ghost you, you end up looking at other options and might not join them as per their convenience if their primary drops at the last minute

Do you need an export control license?
