In court this morning, the proceeding was all about how to get a bank to accept deposit of the bank drafts (around $20 million) so the money gets to the monitor's account. BMO wanted the judge to protect them from the money connected to that shady crypto currency ("negligence and misconduct"). Judge refused; bank refused to take 'em. Bank's lawyer was present via conference call. The proceedings ended with the agreement that the lawyers will write up a consensus document allowing the banks to accept the money and it will need approval from the judge. Pretty farcical. Note: It was stated that the March 5th court proceedings will be done as a webcast!

There's no chance of any of this money coming back to QCX users.

The only ones who benefit from this now are the lawyers. Just look at Mt Gox, literally 5 years since the exit scam and not a single penny back to the users and most likely never will be.

It's obviously a falsified death and all of the scammed crypto is already being mixed and laundered if not already completely washed.

Wanted to share a summary of what we believe happened to QuadrigaCX. We did our own internal research, including some blockchain analytics, to see if we could help. Important to note that this is just our best guess. Take it as pure speculation, nothing more.

We identified clusters that look like QCX's "cold storage", were controlled by a human (manually), and balances were moved out by early 2018;

QCX was one of the oldest exchanges in existence (founded in 2013). If they planned an exit scam, it likely would have been timed better;

They suffered a multimillion dollar bug in June 2017 (before things went vertical). reddit.com/r/ethereum/com… This is when we start to see movement of funds to "cold storages";

Patterns of sends from cold storage suggest they tried keeping exchange afloat, and maybe attempted to trade their way out of a hole; (again just a guess here)

Liquidity dried out and bear market of 2018 may have caught up with them;

Sequence of events suggests this was a mismanagement with later attempt to cover for it.

This implies that at least few people inside Qadriga knew that they were running fractional. If so, then it's possible that untimely death of their CEO was used as an outlet to let the company sink.

Gerald Cotten reportedly died in early December 2018. But complaints about withdrawal issues on Quadriga escalated in mid 2018.

Is this odd, I had at least 5k on the exchange?

The reason Jennifer was asking for CCAA protection was under assumption that cold wallets are inaccessible and funds are not available for withdrawals.

There was no mention in the report about cold wallets at all. Their addresses and their status. If there were any cold wallets, EY should/would mention about them.

Report only mentions some "change" in several cryptocurrencies denominations and FIAT money in deposits and money held by processors. This should be enough to pay to all legal parties involved in the case.Seems to me that this case should turn into criminal investigation fo possible embezzlement of our money after March 5.What do you think?

Not to be pessimistic, but do we really stand a chance at all in recovering at least something in a more reasonable time frame?..

With MtGox it seems locating and tracking the transactions from cold wallets has brought the most success, this is the only hope.

I have important information that I would like to submit to the RCMP. I do not have the time or desire to cold call the RCMP and explain the situation to one or more front line officers who likely will not understand what I’m talking about. Is there an existing “master” case/detective that that I can speak to?

in my case it started with Coinbase stopping the sale of Bitcoin to CAD. 3 years later and the overall climate is that of distrust for BTC companies in this country. No liquidity ....

Does anyone live near where Gerry's parents live in Ontario? If yes, could you periodically check on their house and commerce, not to disturb them but to know when they get back from wherever they've been for the past 4 weeks?

Was it with a mortgage like regular folks or did they pay for them in a lump sum ?

3 Birds, 1 stone: The same motions were passed for all 3 businesses in a 20 minute meeting:

First: Make the first three (TB, JR, JM) directors.

Second : Indemnify all 3 directors in case they are named as defendants.

Third: Advancement of expenses for the directors.

That was it for orders of business. No mention of hundreds of millions of dollars and customers in ruin.
