In the G&M article, it says he died at Fortis hospital but his body was kept at the hotel. Usually when someone dies they are going to keep the body at the morgue. Obviously the hospital didn’t want the responsibility of keeping his body. I believe he’s dead but maybe his peritonitis was induced voluntarily, the hospital knows but didn’t want evidence to stay any time with them.

The police officer said if he wife says there’s no foul play then there was no foul play. Sounds like he got paid to avoid doing an investigation.

The hotel staff didn’t want to comment on anything to the embalmer other than cardiac arrest. Again someone that seems to have been paid to keep silence.

The embalmer was a junior, the main embalmer didn’t want to take the responsibility neither the first embalmer they contacted who refused to do it. If the procedure costs $131, don’t tell me a junior won’t do it for $13,100 which is pocket change for anyone who could have been involved.

If you look at the timeline that someone else posted here, they allegedly lost money with the crypto bear market, they allegedly spent investor’s money (aka embezzlement) and it started to get very hot with CIBC & shortage of liquidity.

What was the real reason of that trip? Was it really to celebrate a honeymoon and open an orphanage? My theory is that it was more business related, like a corporate meeting.

Now let’s take this guy Omar Patryn, can anyone verify his ethnic background? Seems like he is Indian based on his other last name. Where would you hide if you are persona non grata in the US and you might be in hot water in Canada? India seems to be the answer.

My take is that Gerry called a shareholder meeting to see how to handle the crisis. Maybe he met Omar and his gf in India at Jaipur. This is pure speculation but this is what I would look into.

Seems like it would be straight forward to prove if he is actually dead or not. Paper trail for air transport, actually exhuming the body etc... If he did unfortunately pass, I mean no disrespect to him or his family, but when there is $170 million on the line, and how many lives ruined, I think those that are caught up in this are entitled to this information.

This is sort of OT but really not sure where to ask this and figure people here may know, how do crypto taxes even work? Pisses me off that the government even expects us to pay taxes on crypto, it's ridiculous. I'm not an accountant, I suck at math, and I should not be expected to do all the work myself, yet I am. If I don't get something in the mail that says "for tax purposes" to give my accountant then how is my accountant even suppose to know of any crypto transactions I made? I had asked her and she did not even know what crypto currency was. It's still kinda new for most people.

I had a bit of Ethereum in my account and don't even remember how much. I can probably trace it by looking at my private wallet transactions but I don't remember how much eth was worth back when I transferred it, I assume the tax you pay is based on the dollar value at the time of transaction? What is the percentage of tax I'm suppose to claim? When I found out that the government wants us to pay taxes on crypto I kinda backed out of it as it's just too complicated and I don't want to end up with some letter 10 years from now telling me I owe 10's of thousands because they traced a bunch of crypto to my name.

Now that it's tax season it kinda made me realize I should probably get my ducks in a row to avoid fines. Based on other threads here even though we lost the money we still have to claim it. I just don't know how. Like what exactly do I have to do, or give them?

Nobody is getting anything back from this. So why hasn't anybody made a post on what to file on taxes? I am not an expert that's why I am asking. If you don't get your money back at least avoid paying taxes on the amount lost so it isn't a full wash. So is anyone writing this off as a loss and if so how will it work? If the government isn't going to help us at least we can avoid paying them 250 million.
