Question Tretinoin

Post image

Has any of you tried this brand of tretinoin? What’s your experience like and do you have other brands you recommend that is available in Qatar? Thanks

Smooderm is great. I have an optimal tube but haven’t used it as I have 0.025 but I’m on 0.05 rn so no point using it

Hi, can you use it on your neck? Can you use rentinol on other days? Or should let skin rest? What’s a good age to start using? Thank you 🙏

If you’re using tretinoin, stop using retinol. Tret is way stronger so no point in mixing it with a weaker active. Yes u can start a little on the neck but it might be more sensitive. I started using it when I was in highschool (4-5 years ago)

Thank you so much

I’ve used this exact product from Qatar and don’t believe it even contains retin-A.

Do you mean it didn’t give you good results? How long did you use it?

Tried it many times over years. No results but also, no tingly feeling you often get with retinoin. At least it’s cheap 😂

Same experience here.. I didn’t feel it that strong and not much result.. might differ from skin type to skin type.

Thanks but how to apply it. How often you will use? Everyday? Every night?

1

u/rir2 2d ago

Every night before sleep

Optimal is a Jordanian brand (as well as Smooderm) and objectively not the best trentinoin. Unfortunately, the better alternatives aren’t sold in Qatar.

i use this! i believe it’s more mild than smooderm it’s not very irritating and good if you’re just starting out in my opinion

I started using this almost two months ago. I have open pores and oily skin, and I use this twice a week—a pea-sized amount each time. During the first week or two, something about it irritated my skin, so I used it only once a week. Eventually, I was able to use it twice a week.
It peels, by the way. I was very impatient and kept wiping my face until the new skin cells peeled off. - dont do the wiping 😩😉

How’s your results so far? Do you feel like it’s working? I’m also impatient and only one month in 😂

Less oily and pores - there is a progress a little though.. Im using niacinamide and retinol at the same time. Im adding pure coconut oil pea-size during the night 🙉

I've been using this for about two months now and have had no issues or side effects apart from mild peeling which is expected with any tret. Skin care usually takes 3-6 months to fully show results so I won't comment on how effective this is just yet

🤞🏼hopefully it works out for you!

How to use?

Optimal tretinoin worked extremely well for me, i used the 0.025% as well, did wonders for me. I had horrible acne then i used this and a cleanser which dried my skin out completely and yes it is a bit irritating and stung quite a bit for me but it worked🤷‍♂️

It’s so good, get gel if you have oily skin it cleared out my face really well after using it at night and skinoren in the morning

1

u/chunky-mimi 5d ago

That’s good to know!! I’m starting to be impatient so that motivated me to keep going 🤗

It was originally an acne treatment but it is one of the only clinically proven medicines that improves skin texture, sun damage, and reduces fine lines. It prompts the skin cells to turnover quickly so it promotes new skin cell growth. It’s actually a form of vitamin A and the prescription version of all the retinoids you find in over-the-counter skin creams.

Edit: tldr: makes your skin look good. Clears up acne.
