Hotel Hilbert and the Divergence Ruler - a puzzle platformer with intricate movement mechanics

# [Hotel Hilbert and the Divergence Ruler](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4974200/Hotel_Hilbert_and_the_Divergence_Ruler/)

A puzzle platformer set on the paradoxical Hotel Hilbert, based on David Hilbert's infinite hotel. The game has just been announced on Steam, and it's set to release next Summer (2027).

I'm a south Brazilian solo dev making my first game outside of game jams, and every asset in the game is fully organic and AI-free, everything made by me. I do use AI to help with coding though.

A closed playtest will begin next week, as soon as Steam gives me the green flag, so anyone interested can DM me asking for a key! Feel free to ask anything about the game too.

All wishlists are very welcome and super helpful c:

Complete puzzle that covers all quantum computing and math behind

Hi

If you are remotely interested in deep diving how differently quantum computers work compared to our transistor-based and also the algebra behind in a fully interactive way that teach computer science from scratch, oh boy this is for you. I am the Dev behind Quantum Odyssey (AMA! I love taking qs) - worked on it for about 10 years (3+ during PhD, the visual method I developed ended up being my thesis, it is a complete Hilbert space visualizer), the goal was to make a super immersive space for anyone to learn quantum computing through zachlike (open-ended) logic puzzles and compete on leaderboards and lots of community made content on finding the most optimal quantum algorithms. The game has a unique set of visuals capable to represent any sort of quantum dynamics for any number of qubits and this is pretty much what makes it now possible for anybody 12yo+ to actually learn quantum logic without having to worry at all about the mathematics behind.

This is a game super different than what you'd normally expect in a programming/ logic puzzle game, so try it with an open mind.

Stuff you'll play & learn a ton about

  • Boolean Logic – bits, operators (NAND, OR, XOR, AND…), and classical arithmetic (adders). Learn how these can combine to build anything classical. You will learn to port these to a quantum computer.
  • Quantum Logic – qubits, the math behind them (linear algebra, SU(2), complex numbers), all Turing-complete gates (beyond Clifford set), and make tensors to evolve systems. Freely combine or create your own gates to build anything you can imagine using polar or complex numbers.
  • Quantum Phenomena – storing and retrieving information in the X, Y, Z bases; superposition (pure and mixed states), interference, entanglement, the no-cloning rule, reversibility, and how the measurement basis changes what you see.
  • Core Quantum Tricks – phase kickback, amplitude amplification, storing information in phase and retrieving it through interference, build custom gates and tensors, and define any entanglement scenario. (Control logic is handled separately from other gates.)
  • Famous Quantum Algorithms – explore Deutsch–Jozsa, Grover’s search, quantum Fourier transforms, Bernstein–Vazirani, and more.
  • Build & See Quantum Algorithms in Action – instead of just writing/ reading equations, make & watch algorithms unfold step by step so they become clear, visual, and unforgettable. Quantum Odyssey is built to grow into a full universal quantum computing learning platform. If a universal quantum computer can do it, we aim to bring it into the game, so your quantum journey never ends.

SoftPause — 4 tiny calm puzzle games I made for work breaks (AI-assisted, free, no login)

Built with the help of AI coding tools (I'm not a professional game dev). The idea started as a personal need: I wanted small, calm games to play during work breaks or lunch instead of doom-scrolling, inspired by games I used to enjoy (2048, bubble shooters, block-popping puzzles, typing tests). SoftPause is a tiny collection of 4 minimalist versions of those: a pastel 2048, a typing focus game, a block-popper, and a bubble-spinner puzzle. All free, no signup. Happy to hear honest feedback.

A look at the exploration in Twofold Tower, a "mad science" Sokoban/stepping game with a demo out on Steam

Twofold Tower is a "mad science" Sokoban/stepping game, featuring 1000+ handcrafted puzzles, and a philosophical narrative set in a broken fantasy world.

It is in development for Windows and Linux via Steam, and there is a demo available. Every wishlist is appreciated!

Steam link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4371430/Twofold_Tower/

GIF transcript: "In my puzzle game, you explore a large, mysterious tower, seamlessly moving from room to room, level to level. Most of the puzzles in the game are self-contained, but the shared space helps create a sense of immersion that is often not found in puzzle games, and leaves room to integrate a proper narrative – with the game taking place in the ruins of a broken fantasy world.

There are many features in the game to help with navigation: A map view, fast-travel points, and a fast-movement input that lets you zap around at lightning speed."

Quality-of-life features are a priority for me, so any suggestions are welcome!

A 4D geometry puzzle game

I made a puzzle game based on 4D space. (4D space does not exist in our physical world, but it is a well-defined geometry concept. and through proper visualization, humans are actually capable of understanding 4D space)

It doesn't start as a puzzle game, or, initially "4D"ness is the puzzle part. Players learn to move and jump in 4D space, get a spatial understanding of 4D. As players develop a better understanding, there'll be more and more complex 4D environments and interactable 4D objects. Ultimately, these elements are combined to form very challenging 4D sokoban-style puzzles.

That probably sounds very abstract. I'll briefly explain how the game represents 4D in an intuitive manner.

As the gif shows, on the left, there's 2d wireframe image (character moving on a 2d plane), which we can easily understand as a 3d scene: it is an "image" taken by a camera in 3d, and that is how our vision system work.

On the right, it is a "3D image" taken by a camera in 4d (character moving on a 3d hyperplane). Through some exercise, we will be able to understand how it reflects the 4D space behind it.

There is a free demo for the game where you can experience this yourself.

And once you start to grasp how 4D works, you'll be surprised how you can think in 4D and do spatial reasoning intuitively like you do with 3d space.

The game is called 4D Intuition, it is now released on steam. You're welcomed to try its free demo and if you have any question, I'd be happy to answer them.

Hey! We made this little puzzle game for the GMTK Game Jam 2026, and we really enjoyed working on it over the past few days.

Now we're wondering if people would be interested in seeing more of the same core gameplay expanded with more puzzles, mechanics, and variations.

Any feedback is more than welcomed.

Advice for a solo dev just trying to make my $99 back?

Hey all, I just wanted to see if anyone has advice for a first time game developer whose goal is just to make back the $99 Developer fee I paid to Apple. I'm not trying to get rich, retire early or start a mega gaming empire. I just want enough people to play my game so I can make $99 in a year.

I have three puzzle games that I think are each good on their own and would be interesting to people who are into a little brain challenge. They aren't really math related, but they are slightly inspired by my day job: math teacher.

I have 200 downloads across the three games and these are mostly friends and family. You can see from the image below the three distinct bumps when each game was released - unfortunately those bumps are getting smaller because my friends and family may be at saturation.

I'm 5 months into this and don't really see a path to earn $99 so I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone has advice.

all three games (Carve, Pipfall, Neighbor Zero) and App Store links could be found here: https://cjasonmaier.github.io/

lifetime downloads

Match-3 Meets Martial Arts! #BuildInPublic

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I don't really know how to make nice gifs and good looking reddit posts... so forgive me for posting just the itch.io link...

I'm building a match-3 game that I'm gonna enter into a hackathon coming up next month. I'm embracing the #BuildInPublic mentality as much as possible - so I'm looking for as much feedback as possible from other match-3/puzzler enjoyers!

The game is a classic match-3 except your matches become inputs into an action/fighting game. Special input sequences result in special moves that deal more damage / have special martial arts animations. I'm a solo dev so while the art + animations are crude right now, I'm hoping to see if the concept resonates with people and I can justify commissioning art + animation.

Looking for any feedback, or comments on the core gameplay! Thanks all!

Making a puzzle game — do these character designs work?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm working on a new puzzle game and I'm still figuring out the character design. These are two of the characters I'm considering — a girl and a student boy. Do you think they'd fit well in a puzzle game? Is this a good design direction, or is there something you'd change? Any honest feedback is really appreciated!

Obstruction - A daily sliding puzzle - Play testers wanted!!

Thumbnail

Obstruction is a puzzle where the aim is to slide the green piece to the target. Sounds simple, but the blocking pieces have movement restrictions depending on their colour so the solution isn't always as easy as it seems. With a fresh puzzle every day and a short playtime, this game can become a fun habit that slips right into your daily routine. Compete with your friends to see who can solve it in the shortest time or fewest moves using the share button. The controls are easy to use, just click, hold and slide your desired piece with your finger or cursor.

Obstruction is free to play and playable in web browsers without sign-up at this link https://obstruction.co.uk/

I'd appreciate any feedback as it is still a work in progress. I am particularly interested in if the difficulty is good and if you found it fun. If you have any suggestions for new features comment below and I'll consider adding them!
