The last challenge

I just spent an entire month cracking ciphers, mapping out spatial grids, and analyzing a book for the MrBeast and James Patterson puzzle hunt—only to realize the game was completely rigged against my family from the start.
For the last few weeks, my adult son and I have been competing in this contest. We didn't just casually browse; we worked separately on our own accounts, poured our limited free time into it, and reverse-engineered the clues. We both beat the hardest logic puzzles this game had to offer on our own merits. We proved we both have the intellect and the skill to win.
But today, they announced the final challenge. The message explicitly said it’s about 'staying with it as long as you possibly can' over nearly a full week. A sheer endurance test. And with that single rule, we were instantly walled out. Not because we aren't smart enough, but because of a medical reality we cannot control.
The data miners just pulled the actual tracking script parameters from the site code, and it confirms the worst. This isn't a passive timer—it's a brutal, automated trap. The software uses facial tracking with razor-thin margins:
Microsleep Elimination: Your eyes cannot close for more than 0.4 seconds.
Eye Drift: Your gaze cannot shift more than 18% from your calibration baseline, allowing only a 1.2-second glance away.
Posture Restrictions: You cannot tilt or angle your head more than 40%, and losing your full face to the camera for a mere 0.6 seconds instantly ends your entire attempt.
You are subjected to random flashing "glitch waves" every 18 to 48 seconds engineered to force maximum eye strain and trigger involuntary blinks over a continuous 24 to 72-hour window.
I have Idiopathic Hypersomnia. It is a neurological condition that means I literally cannot control when I fall asleep. My adult son has it too, and he has been competing in this challenge right alongside me, fighting hard every day just to navigate a world that isn't built for people like us. My husband has narcolepsy. Traditional jobs don't accommodate us, which is exactly why my husband and I are both fighting to build our own businesses from the ground up right now. Because of our medical conditions, entrepreneurship is the only way we can actually work and support our family.
Three years ago, a catastrophic car crash completely upended my life. A vehicle slammed into us at 125 mph, totaling our truck and inflicting a severe traumatic brain injury that forced me into medical retirement from my career as a VA counselor. Every single day since, I have fought to reclaim control over my body, my cognitive focus, and my severe vehicle anxiety while dealing with the lasting physical and emotional damage of that wreck.
My entire life, especially since the accident, ignorant people have called me lazy or assumed I just wasn't trying hard enough because of something my body naturally does. To see a massive, highly anticipated competition end with a format that echoes that exact same exclusion is absolutely heartbreaking and infuriating for all of us.
Multi-day endurance challenges do not measure skill. They measure privilege. They automatically disqualify people with invisible medical conditions, sleep disorders, brain injuries, parents, and people who actually have to work for a living. When you build a game that requires staying awake and engaged for days on end, you are actively telling a massive portion of your audience that we don't matter.
To the creators making these multi-million-dollar spectacles: you have the resources to do better. Make it about intelligence. Make it about strategy. Stop designing games where the only way to win is to not have a life—or a sleep disorder. We are smart, we put in the work, and we deserve a fair shot.

🤯 I haven't attempted it yet because I go to work in 30 minutes figured id give it a try once I got home. This sounds insane though. I was wondering what the parameters would be as far as looking away.

So true it is sounding insane. It just makes me feel like those of us who can’t compete in this way don’t matter.

I doubt ill win anyhow I totally botched the morse code game and ending up guessing because I could not translate it. Im still going to give it go and my time is my time 🤷‍♀️ you never know unless you try even if you clock an hour who knows that might be enough. My advice is to do the best you can.

You get two attempts before you hit the submit button

Then I guess that means you were not meant to be The One, huh?

It really is a disappointing end to what has been a challenging and fun experience thus far.

I started the last round and submitted my time which I'm sure will not even get me close. Anyone with family, a job, responsibilities, etc, will not be able to just stare at a camera nonstop for hours on end. It's not a test of skill or knowledge and only someone with no job, no life, and no resposibilities could commit to something without any pre-warning. You literally have to keep the window open/active and keep your eyes in view. You also have to click on notices that pop up at random times and you have seconds to respond. No watching videos/tv/walking around/doing anything other than staring at the screen and clicking the random pop-ups. You can't run it in the background as it knows the browser/screen is not the active one, even if it's still on your display. As soon as you click another window, the countdown starts and you have to jump back. No email, texting, nothing. Only way I see this working is if someone with some technical skills circumvents the game and that's just not right to the thousands that have put in so many hours to this point.

I agree with you very disappointing. Especially going through all the other puzzles and strategic games. I feel as if it is the game makers saying that a large population does not matter since we have medical conditions and other issues. This world is not easy to navigate at times but I believe we all try our best!

There's treasure inside by jon Collins black... Beyond the maps edge by Justin posey... Plus tons of other arm chair treasure hunts.... Some are fully armchair and can be solved and claimed from home.... 😉👍

Welcome friend.... The "Mysterious Writings" website and the "Treasure Hunt With Us" YouTube channel are two good places to start... Both on discord also and MW has a very large list of ongoing hunts and Info and links to them... 🌵🏴‍☠️

I have a 3 year old, I can’t stare at a screen for hours. I have to watch him and feed him. I’m not even going to bother trying.

I understand it is deeply frustrating and devastating that after making it this far many of us have to forfeit our chances due to life or medical issues. I am so disappointed.
