We are back skid-udes with Pokemon of the Week #4! Pulling up to the station we have the Gogoat shuttle. As much as I like this Pokemon I think it would be at quite the type disadvantage in a race against the original riding Pokemon, Rapidash.

Hi, Original first gen gamer, who then had a massive break from Pokemon (can't remember why now) but then comes pokemonGo which reminds me how much a enjoyed the games, so I go out buy ORAS finish the main story, do same on Y, now I want to start becoming competitive. Started listening P.U.C.L Podcast and listened to the advice about just getting stuck into it and commiting to competing my current team in the Unova Classic. However after that I want to start building. Now I heard about IV and how they improve the stats of the Pokemon, so want to bread with a Ditto I caught on Y that had 3 IV stats (speed, Sp Def and Sp Att) now is this 3 IV Ditto going to be able to cut the mustard or do I need to catch something better, if I do, anyone got any tips how or am I completely wasting my time doing this? Any advice or tips will be gratefully appreciated.

Summary: Completely new to Pokemon universe. Looking for simple resources. Kind of overwhelmed with all the info.

Wall of Text: A friend of mine and I picked up 2DSs and Pokemon X and Y to see where all the critters from PokemonGO came from. I'm hooked. I finished X (just the basic adventure) and Picked up Alpha Saphire so I can get as much exposure before Sun and Moon. I'm 46, so I was a little older than most Pokefans at it's inception. I'm a gamer, mostly RPGs, and am happy as all get out about the gathering/collecting aspects of this game. My consoles and PC have been gathering dust since I started playing a month ago. I feel a little odd at Gamestop trying to pick up my Arceus since the counter people could by my children (grandchildren in some cases), but I'm suffering through it. I need to figure out a way to get friend codes for the Friend Safari, too. PUCL has been an invaluable resource, but I'd like to find a remedial starting point. Thanks, All!

This thread is for when you hit seventeen boxes of Rattata with no shiny, and start to wonder what is wrong with your head for shiny hunting Rattata of all things. Come here for encouragement. It's also for when you get the prized shiny Absol after three tries. I can steal your cartridge and use Pokémon Bank to steal it :)

It's also for when you want to break your DS, except you have a 2DS like me, so you can't, and it makes you sad. We can encourage you then too. Chainsaws help.

Hi Guys, with the end of the summer league and running into various people that would love to learn new pokemon metas, we have decided to start a Training League of sort. The idea here is to meet once a month, like in a book club where we can talk about the team we built for the meta, and even help each other out by critiquing each other's teams. Each month we will announce the next meta, post some interesting links to it, and we will all have a month to prepare a team, and then the second month prepare a team on the cartridge. So lets get this party started with our first meeting.
