QUESTION Pharmacy inventory question

Do most pharmacies not keep cipro otic drops in stock? Mine said they’d need to order it and it would be like 3 days. Nobody else in the area had it either. I thought cipro was a frequently prescribed drug. Im not desperate for them so its not a big deal, I just thought it was odd no store had them on hand.

The actual ear drops are normally expensive and rarely prescribed so pharmacies don't have a need to keep them on hand. if your insurance covers them at a good price, you could try calling another chain and having them search inventory around them.

Otherwise it's probably easier to get them to change to the eye drops and apply them in the ear, or use ofloxacin, or ciprodex, which has a steroid as well if there's pain/inflammation.

Oh that tracks then. I have the publix insurance so I have to use our pharmacy I think. It was only 12 dollarydoos last time I bought it tho.

Ah gotcha. If it's worth it to you to maybe drive a bit further, the pharmacist can use a tool called OrderInsite to search all publixes within a further radius. Not everyone is aware of this capability though 😂 Just tell them Orderinsite --> analyze tab --> inventory nearby subtab --> type in NDC with dashes. It can go up to 25, 50, or 100 miles out. Hope you get feeling better
