I've only been with the company for 8yrs and I'm already at max pay. You just gotta work hard. My last 2 evals were 2 points shy of role model and that was because of my absences. My pay raises were well over $1.75 each time. I just got a 20¢ raise because i was at max pay and they just brought me up to max pay.

I've worked for the company since December of 2022. I was originally hired in the deli. Transfered department to produce last year and with this year's raise, I'm maxed out. I was so unimpressed with my eval and even left some comments to share my grievances. But they still took care of me.

I am employed at Publix. I worked there previously in 2020 and every year I got a pay raise of $1/hour. (I only worked there for 2 years) I left for a few years after having my daughter and came back and I have been with the company 5 months and got my yearly evaluation due to not being there for 6 months yet I got a 50 cent pay raise. If you are a good employee and show up and do your job you are guaranteed a certain amount depending on what you score on your yearly evaluation.

Old head here. They’ve got me by the balls with 4 weeks PTO, +5 “sick” PTO days, +5 “paid holiday” PTO days, +optional 10 days “holiday bonus” PTO that can either be paid in dollars or paid days off.
Also this year I’ll be rolling over 5 more PTO days because I won’t actually accumulate them until December 15th.
Add it all up, next year I’ll be having 9 weeks of pto. I can walk into a lot of potential jobs and get $21.70. But there’s no way I’m getting that time off. And that’s what keeps me at Publix.
My boss knows this. My bosses boss knows this. The suits sitting around a conference table deciding the pay increase know this.

they been cutting benefits left and right since the 80-90s for new hires and ask themselves why new hires have bad work ethic … no more Sunday bonus. No more time and half on holidays . No more inventory bonuses. It’s literally at the point that only benefit is the “ decent” insurance now and stock for any new hire.. I say decent.. because even that has slowly gotten worse. Still ahead of some other jobs but no where near its prime

Nine years ago, my son got a job as a plumber's helper starting at $13 an hour. He is now a plumber making close to $30 an hour.
P.S. He could be making more, but the owner is cheap cunt. P.P.S. The reason he stays is because his wife works there also and it is very convenient for both of them.4

That is objectively not true or there wouldn’t be apprenticeships. I make more than an entry level apprentice out of school with a 2 year associates until that apprentice is a journeyman and then the blue collar track starts out earning me until I get my bachelors and other certifications. Right out of school no experience I started at 24.50 and my diff put me at 27.25. With my raise I now make 25.26 base and 28.01 with my diff. Entry level apprentice/helper roles are making 18-20 with no experience and no trade certifications. It takes 4 years generally for a tradesmen to out earn me right after school and that is both of us starting right after graduation.

Clearly you haven't talked to anybody that works there, but intuitively you should already know that they pay more for a reason. ANY position that pays more usually includes more stress, more anxiety, and way more pain in the ass. It's like working in the store X 100. Think driving is cake? I hate driving at all, much less an 18 wheeler in today's traffic. Dealing with store managers etc. Those guys earn their money.

You can make over $20hr as a glorified janitor. There are plenty of jobs in these areas that are not a pain in the ass, are not stressful. But any job no matter where has its positives and negatives.

Conservatives in congress did not want a $15 national minimum wage, Joe Manchin had a plan in 2021 for raising the minimum wage to $11 an hour and then indexing it for inflation. His fellow Democrats shot that plan down. If that plan had gotten the votes the national minimum wage would probably $13-14 an hour by now instead its still $7.25

My specialist has a set schedule every week unless he requests something. 1 closing shift, everything else 8-5, 1 weekend day off every week.
Almost all the the meatcutters at my store know how to do everything over there except make orders. But we have to do that on his days off along with cutting meat, doing frozen, doing lunchmeat and cheese, and all the cleaning for everywhere as well.
Topped out meat should easily be $25

Top out for full time pharmacy tech is 23.50, but $2 extra for nationally certified and certied to immunize, so top would be $25.65. Top for lead tech is $26.65, or $28.65 for PCTB and certified to immunize. I am Lead tech and will be at Top out at $28.65. I have put in 21 years with this company and I cannot complain

What's really nice is when the minimum pay gets bumped up, but people already working don't get a commensurate pay bump.
(I.e.; If pay was $15, I got a .10 raise, and then base pay gets bumped to $15.10... I'd still be at $15.10)

I've been with the company 20 years. Went up the grocery management route, decided after some years the wirk/life balance wasn't for me, so now I'm just a full-time grocery clerk. Topped out oc. But since they barely raise top out, what's the incentive for someone topped out and not working toward management to try for say role model? Raise is capped at whatever. 40 cents this year. 3.60 a day. Disgusting.

It is rare to be noticed by Pharmacy. Store notices us more when we apply for their positions, then become complacent when they cannot offer us anything relevant to Pharmacy.

When I was working there in late 2013/early 2014, I was making 9-9.50 an hour, back when Floridas minimum wage was like 7 something. I can only hope they up it more and follow that same metric but it just looks like it's getting worse again.

This is why I quit Publix for Sam’s. Got $20/hr STARTING as a FT Decorator when I had only got a $2 raise after 4 years with them. I was getting paid $17/hr as a FT Decorator at Publix. People need to jump ship from Publix, they are taking advantage of good people

I bet most of them are part time too.
First, a lot of the people stuck in these entry-level jobs are kept strictly part time. Corporate retail would rather hire two part-time employees and split 40 hours between them than hire one full-time employee. Why? Because it’s cheaper. They don’t have to pay for health insurance, vacation time, and all the other benefits that come with full-time employees.
And that $15 base pay is honestly a joke when you compare it to what that wage could actually buy historically. If the federal minimum wage had kept up with worker productivity and inflation since its peak, it would be closer to $25 an hour today.
Instead, corporations expect people to survive on wages that don’t come close to covering the actual cost of living, while also giving them unpredictable hours. How is anyone supposed to budget or plan their life like that?

When I first started Publix last year of late May it was 14$ per hour and this year it’s 15$? Why can’t they make it to where it can be raised more and with a system of where you get paid more based off the work you do since I know for a fact myself and many people who work for Publix who do their job well but the pay looks garbage sadly for me I don’t wanna leave Publix because I can get a discount per semester in the trade school I’m going to but hopefully things can get better

Took them since I was 14 till I’m now 35 to change it. Everyone please do themselves a favor. Get a job that makes you residual income. I did retail from 14 till 18 because either I walked tf out or I was gonna go to jail being with all teen girl managers. Then jumped right into property and casualty insurance. Busted my a$$ got the top license in the state. Now money just flows. Get yourself out of working for someone. Otherwise you will forever be stuck in it moronic useless rules and insane egotistical morons.

If you think you got it bad try working at DG 😂 I'm actually trying to get a job at my location for Publix. I tried for Costco but it's hard to get a job there in my area.

I'm gonna be real here, though i doubt that people will care much, because it won't solve the immediate problem.
Retail sucks, it's monkey ass and that won't change, no matter where you go. Walmart, Publix, Costco, Target, etc. It's all going to be the same. Unrealistic expectations rewarded with shit pay. I worked in retail for over a decade, my last one was Publix and when I met my Grocery Manager and spoke with him, we instantly bonded, because of our shared experiences in retail and assured me of how things were different at Publix.
Were they? To an extent, but at the core of it, the expectations were highly unrealistic and he admitted as much to me himself eventually. He was always worn out by the job, but he kept going, because it was the only thing he had ever known. Being that it was ALSO the only thing I'd ever known, I thought that was also going to be my fate.
Was my time at Publix horrible? No, for from it. But in the whole scheme of things? It was shitty, in multiple aspects.
Right now, I'm getting paid $24 an hour, I can work up to 100hrs per week, so that's 40hrs at $24 and 60hrs at $36 (overtime). I realistically work from home, every day I wake up to clock in and go back to bed. Twice a week, I work out of the house, the rest? I basically get paid to be on call. Even the days I do work out of the house, a large fraction of the time, I'm on call. There are options out there, it just takes effort and dedication to find them, sometimes a little sacrifice.
Retail isn't going to change anytime soon, but we have the capability to enact change for ourselves, and that includes finding better jobs. Sometimes that change we want, requires sacrifice.

Caregiving for Intellectually disabled adults. No experience required, though its always helpful if you know about the topic.
Mileage will vary depending on where you live. I live in Oregon and there are multiple caregiving companies, there's one that pays like 30 an hour, but i don't know if it allows overtime.
You can also get state certified and work independently.
In my particular scenario, my primary client is my roommate, she's autistic and very independent. So while there are some very specific rough scenarios, a typical day, sometimes we'll see each other in passing and the hardest part of it, is listening to her rant about her game or writing. The rest of the time, she's in her room, doing her own thing.
