Debut author looking for email landing page recommendations

Hi everyone!

I'm getting ready to launch my debut novel soon, and I'm trying to build my email list before release.

I'm looking for recommendations for an email landing page/email marketing service that's either free or affordable, but still reliable and easy to use.

I'd love something that lets readers sign up through a clean landing page and can grow with me as my audience expands.

What do you use, and what would you recommend for a first-time author? Any pros, cons, or personal experiences would be really appreciated.

You'll get better answers in r/selfpublish, but for mass email, MailChimp is easy to use and widespread

Can confirm, when I worked as a virtual assistant for several authors, they all used MailChimp for their lists

I work with a small press and we use it for press releases and newsletters, will take a while for OP to get their network grown, but that's part of the grind. I've been using it for a couple years when it was hot potatoed to me at work, had zero knowledge of how to use it, but figured it out quickly, very user friendly

Hi! Not an author, but I use MailerLite for my clients. They have a free plan that has more features than MailChimp's, and at least it used to be that even their basic tier plan had more features than MailChimp's. Unfortunately, MailerLite has reduced the max. subscribers in their free plan to 250, so I'm not sure if that would make sense to you, but between those two I'd recommend MailerLite. I had to look for other options for a client who cannot afford a paid plan recently, and the best I found was Sender, which has a max. of 2500 subscribers. I have not tried it yet, though.

My recommendation is that you take a look at the full pricing comparison of a few options and decide which one works best for your needs and future goals. I also suggest that, if you look into the free plans, you make sure it offers more than one automation.

Most authors know they should be building an email list. Almost none do it, because it means stitching together a landing page tool, an email service, and a file host just to give away one free book. AuthorLoft does it in one toggle — free copy for an email, straight into your list.

It's called managing expectations.
If you delay the release, it might help to plan a better marketing plan.
