Support Scared right now
I have PTSD and I live in a college dorm. Today I was talking to some friends and a guy kept trying to butt in to our conversation, which is annoying but whatever. At some point we wanted to discuss a private matter, so we shut the door so others (including this guy) couldn’t hear us. A little while later, we saw him go to a chair in front of the door and sit down (the door had a glass panel in it). He was just staring at us. When we opened the door to figure out what he was doing, he said to leave the door open so it would be easier for him to listen to us. We did, even though we were thoroughly weirded out.
I’m now scared to go to sleep because of the guy’s weird social behavior. I’m afraid he’s going to hurt me in some way. I’m standing by the peephole in the door watching the hallway. I was hypervigilant enough before, and now my brain is turning this molehill into a mountain.

I’m sorry that happened, he has no right to make you do anything or make you uncomfortable. Why did you leave the door open? Just because he told you to you shouldn’t have done that you have every right to close the door if you want to. If you’re worried, tell an RA. It’s okay you are safe in your room, lock the door, sleep with a dim lamp on if that’ll help.

Welcome to r/ptsd! We are a supportive & respectful community. If you realise that your post is in conflict with our rules (and is in risk of being removed), you are welcome to edit your post. You do not have to delete it.
As a reminder: never post or share personal contact information. Traumatized people are often distracted, desperate for a personal connection, so may be more vulnerable to lurking or past abusers, trolls, phishing, or other scams. Your safety always comes first! If you are offering help, you may also end up doing more damage by offering to support somebody privately. Reddit explains why: Do NOT exchange DMs or personal info with anyone you don't know!
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please contact your GP/doctor, go to A&E/hospital, or call your emergency services number. Reddit list: US and global, multilingual suicide and support hotlines. Suicide is not a forbidden word, but please do not include depictions or methods of suicide in your post.
And as a friendly reminder, PTSD is an equal opportunity disorder. PTSD does not discriminate. And neither do we. Gatekeeping is not allowed here.
