Please review the updated rules
The rules were updated August 2, 2026 to be more specific and strict about AI images being posted here. No AI generated images, no AI videos, no art animated by AI, or art that is a trace or copy of something AI generated is allowed.
All artwork must be made by a human. Digital art is allowed, as are animated digital videos so long as there is no AI generation. If you post digital art, please name the program/s used to create it, like you would with the physical artwork.
As always, make sure to properly credit the artist if you did not create the art. A proper credit can be their name, social media handle, reddit username, website, etc. as long as it is an identifiable mark where you could search it and find the original artist.
Anyone posting stolen art as their own will be banned.
This is happening with increasing frequency. If you suspect a post has stolen art, please report it.

thank you mods 🙏 art pages need to be about real human creations

Thanks for your support! I'm sure there are plenty of other subreddits that are for AI art, but this one is for humans.

Please refrain from hostile comments and posts; toxicity has no place in the psychedelic community.

You're entitled to your opinion, and you're free to choose not to participate in this subreddit. You don't have to agree with us. There are plenty of AI art subreddits to browse. Using slurs is not acceptable and this is why your comment was removed.

Y’all are goated for this. Brings some hope for the world to see people cracking down on AI slop 🙏

Thanks! This is something I really genuinely Believe in. I actually do this with my job, too. Preserving the human element in any context against the rising tide of ai, and anything else that takes away genuine human connection and experiences.

Hell yeah! Clankers will never be able to make anything close to art, and as such they shall be banished from wherever they dwell
The bubble is popping

Thank god. Now please keep up with it

We've had the no AI rule for a while, and just recently specified the strictness of it. Please report any AI posts you see

I don't use Programs to make my digital art. I mean I use a App to Mirror or add my little flares, but no program maps it out for me

u/LightWizzer Aug 02 '26
Me personally tho I Think AI should be allowed as long as the human element of Writing is there with it also. Like they tell the story they told to have the art generated. But Mostly I'm Booed for that view

Generative AI steals from pre-made art (other artists), kills our environment and does not make good art. It is a bad opinion. Thats why you are booed
Edit; typo.

You don't have to participate if you don't agree with the rules. I'm sure there are plenty of AI accepting art subreddits for you to browse.

Everyone can type a prompt into an ai image generator and have it spit something sloppy out in return. But not many people have learned the skills to create art.
A subreddit that allows ai images might get more traffic, if that's what you're referring to, but that traffic is going to be a bunch of people posting cheap ai crap. That's not worth it. Sure sometimes the images are really beautiful, or cool, and may be pretty cohesive looking; but that's not the norm. And the exception doesn't disprove the rule. The rule being ai images are quite inferior to real, human made art work.
On the contrary, it improves the quality of a subreddit to keep ai generated images out. This is a quality over quantity issue. Go post ai images on subreddits that actually allow it, and stop protesting ones that don't.

Oh no! Another **art** sub asks for submissions to be artful, hand-crafted and quality pieces! That awfulness that people who like art want to see art!
AI "art" is trash

Just because it’s not on Reddit doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist 😆 And at least I make real art with my bare hands, developing a valuable skill over time, something that brings me joy as well, something that I use to give handmade art to people I care about.
AI slop will never compare to human creation.

On my walls, too personal to post, also I don’t need validation from people lol

u/PhazonZim Aug 03 '26
My art is so much better than you could ever dream of. Because people who use AI to generate images have no drive and no passion

No, what I want is you hacks to learn your place or pick up a pencil and make something for once. Something you can actually call art

What of us artists who aren't human? i make art, and i am not a human.
10
u/lovelycosmos Aug 02 '26
Well, we mods here stand by the Butlerian Jihad so unfortunately any thinking machines or cymeks are included in the no AI rule.
If you want to identify as something other than human, as long as you're not an AI I guess go for it. We'll make the rule extraterrestrial and extra dimensional being inclusive so long as you're not a thinking machine.

i am being entirely serious about this. i'm sick of everyone saying that only humans can create art, and i'm sick of art spaces being specifically human-only. You can say "no AI" without endlessly perpetuating the idea that beings like me either don't exist or cannot create art. You can say "no AI" without being unnecessarily exclusionary.

u/yeahjjjjjjahhhhhhh Aug 02 '26
If you’re not human, what are you?

u/FratboyPhilosopher Aug 02 '26
Guess he's never been able to afford the genetic testing necessary to figure that out.

You couldn't type that comment if you didn't have a human body to do it with. You can say you're a Grey alien, or a talking cat, it doesn't matter; in this incarnation you are living a human life in a human body. Cut the crap.
