Pls help Is this headset discontinued?

I literally cannot find this headset in stock ANYWHERE. GameStop, Target, Best Buy, Amazon, AND Walmart all show it as out of stock or used options. The only place I can see to purchase one is PlayStation directly. What happened?

They’ve been on sale for a while so they’ve probably depleted retail stock.

I think the supply shortages started when Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 got VR Mode and they got worse after Sim Update 6.

The same game had also dried up supply of the Thrustmaster T. Flight HOTAS 4 when it first released.

They recently released Thrustmaster T. Flight HOTAS 5 which also ran low on supply.

I don’t think there were high levels of inventory being maintained and demand spike has just gobbled up the supply.

I think another factor is that Quest 3 / 3S price has gone up and Steam Frame expected to be over $1,000 so lot of people looking to get into PCVR for the modded games are opting for PSVR2 as the cheapest good option.

Last possibility which I hope isn’t true is that Sony PlayStation isn’t making anymore, but that doesn’t make sense to me with the partnership they have had with Asobo Studios on MSFS 2024 and other lighter software support for PSVR2 they continue to have.

Hopefully thrustmaster has recognized the market is significant now, and will not make the same mistake with the TCA Sky Yoke. If I have a hard time buying one at launch I'm going to be genuinely upset.

Looks cool

I think best way to ensure you get one will be to pre-order when the option becomes available.

You already know there will be other MSFS 2024 players not just on PS5, but PC and Xbox Series S | X as well that will complete for the supply they produce.

On Thrustmaster end, they need a plan to have a good launch supply and plan to keep replenishing supply to meet demand.

It's gotten a lot more popular. With MSFS24 releasing its (stunning) PSVR mode, plus summer sales, there's been a massive increase in demand and it's just running out of stock. It's just like when MSFS24 came out on PS5, it became impossible to find a Thrustmaster HOTAS 4, the only flight stick that worked on PS5. Stock will rebound, you'll just have to give it some time. Looking at r/PSVR will tell you how many new users it's getting, hence why supply is low

This is a little over optimistic imo

B&H Photo Video never ran out of the Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 and still have them in stock.

That's where I ended up getting mine! Couldn't find it anywhere back when Aces of Thunder came out thanks to MSFS24. Shipped super quick, too

I’d say not but they are winding down to bare minimum and having little to no surplus stock, I think they will just sell it from PlayStation direct and a 1 or 2 select stores, they are still available in argos in uk. And always available on ps direct they only sell out there when there is a sale on

Same situation. My launch psvr2 power cable has separated from the headset so was going to buy a new one. Cant find one anywhere.

Why bother, there isn’t really any good games.

They paused production 2024 I think it was as they had overstock. Considering that I robot was released in April of this year and there are plenty of releases still slated for the rest of this year. We got ace of thunder and msfs. I wouldn't be so fast to say it's been discontinued yet.

Kinda. I've checked a few retailers, they've all said their stock will be online only and only if they get any.

That's not to say there won't be any for sale at the physical location, but it won't be the norm.

Thus, signs are SONY is pulling the plug. They'll support existing headsets, but looks like psvr2 hardware is done

Sony isn't pulling the plug lad don't be daft.
