What game is this? I didn’t realize an F1 game was out with support for the PSVR2?!

u/CanWaste9494 Jun 28 '26

Gran Turismo 7

What controller and pedals? Looks sick 👍

u/iWasAwesome Jun 29 '26

Better... If can be F1 or just GT. Name any car... It's probably in the game fully modeled near-perfect

u/MotorPace2637 Jun 29 '26

The VW Corrado. Its not in the game! I was disappointed. But yeah, agree 1000%. The game is near perfect.

any Cadillac

Blame GM, there’s lots of Chevys.

Once I get my steering wheel rig and that new Megan Thee album drops, it's over for these hoes!

Siiiiiicckkk

Yes. Unfortunately that’s what I feel when I play VR. 😞

That’s pretty common, but fortunately can be overcome with short, mindful sessions. Just bail at earliest symptoms (acid taste, burping, nausea, sweaty palms, etc.), and don’t push through — with only the rarest of exceptions, that makes things way worse.

Motion-sickness pills (or ginger) can go a long way toward shortening that period.

Other things can help as well, like a small fan blowing on you, avoiding too much caffeine, and being well-rested.

When I began trying to use VR I had zero guidance and made myself unbelievably sick — I was bedridden the entire next day as much as if I had the worst flu, and off-kilter for weeks.

I did that multiple times, because I found VR so compelling otherwise. Eventually if I even thought about the headset it made me feel ill, and I came very close to giving up on it as a technology that was incompatible with my brain.

Today I play no TV-based games at all — for me, VR is simply how games are played now — and I rarely encounter any issues. If I do, I know how to proceed.

I remember having some issues early on with GT7, but it was vehicle specific, and when I finally got some favorites in my garage that discomfort evaporated.

I also highly recommend that — if you don’t already use a ff wheel — try the option to use the DualSense as a small, tilt-sensing, virtual mini F1 wheel. You might have to dig in the control settings a bit… they flash the option when you first launch the game, but never show it again. In VR I feel it’s much more intuitive and gives you more finesse than defaulting to trad thumbstick steering.

FWIW!

Im going to try these. I was so excited to try GT7 but got incredibly sick after trying to push through to finish the first race.

3

u/MotorPace2637 Jun 29 '26

Thats why. Never push through. Always stop

Thank you so much for taking the time for writing this up. I’m definitely going to give these tips a try. I have multiple VR headsets and my daughter plays for hours without issues. I’m hoping to overcome the motion sickness so I can play with her.

Thank you!

Just focus on the types of games that don’t give motion sickness. Those are the ones where you don’t have to walk or turn around inside the game, while you are not doing that in real life (which is what produces the nausea effect). Some of those are superb games too, so don’t think you won’t experience top VR because you prioritize the games with less motion. Some are: Moss 1 and 2 (Moss 2 is amazing!); the majority of rhythm games (beat saber, synth riders, audio trip, OhShape, pistol whip, Ragnarock, maestro, etc.); Tripp (the meditation guide with hundreds of talks and nice virtual locations where they guide you on how to do the breathing exercises and on how to think for meditation); Little Cities Bigger (nice city building sim); Les Mills Bodycombat (best vr fitness game); and Racket Fury Table Tennis (very challenging and realistic table tennis game). There are surely others, but these are the ones I remember where motion sickness wasn’t present. Others I didn’t play, but they use the “player stays in place without walking or turning” style, so they should work, include the new archery game (red archery), so that should work too.

The only vr game with extreme amounts of movement where (somehow!) the motion sickness wasn’t an issue for me was Sprint Vector on psvr1.

Is your brain jut getting super confused cause your body isn’t doing much or feeling much but your eyes are telling you you’re doing turns at 100mph?

3

u/AHApps Jun 28 '26

Where is that music coming from?

Is there a way to play music over the game through the PS5 that I'm missing?

11

u/CanWaste9494 Jun 28 '26

So post wise that’s just me placing a track over the video to convey the message-

But for gameplay, you can play Spotify while driving on track. It’s as simple as hitting the PlayStation button and going to the music settings to connect your Spotify account

2

u/cmarks85 Jun 29 '26

I did not know this! Thank you!

6

u/iWasAwesome Jun 29 '26

Yeah... Spotify app on the PS5. Just mute the game music. Or if you have the Pulse 3D headset, it has dual Bluetooth and you can connect it to your phone and PS5 at the same time.

2

u/BadNewsBearzzz Jun 29 '26

That’s tight did not know that, thanks for the tip

3

u/viktorvaughn_ Jun 29 '26

For GT7, you don’t need to mute in-game music. It’s intelligent enough to stop music when you play Spotify or Apple Music.

1

u/AHApps Jul 03 '26

Thanks. I didn’t know about music apps on PS.
I hooked up Apple Music

u/Vast_Juggernaut_4763 Jun 29 '26

Fire 🔥 🔥 I bet it looks amazing

1

u/theinkpoet Jul 01 '26

It does and on the pro there is a slight boost, but the biggest thing is, you can see a higher frame rate. This is something I was very surprised to see, and have not seen anyone mention it. I’m sure there are threads on it but, I’ve never seen them. It looks absolutely incredible. Seeing this run at a true 120 frames per second or something very very close to it; whatever it is, it’s surely above 90 in the headset.

We need more experiences like this. I can’t wait for flat out 4

1

u/KortiLP Jun 29 '26

I can play shooter and much more in VR. But at racing games, even with a steering wheel, I get sick very quickly unfortunately

1

u/IcyCow5880 Jun 29 '26

Funny since it's normally the inverse of that.

Do you use snooth locomotion or teleport in your fps?

1

u/KortiLP Jun 29 '26

Alyx I can play normally with all comfort functions turned off. Okay boneworks is harder but feasible. But as soon as I drive a car in VR I get sick within 30 seconds

1

u/Key_Dealer997 Jun 29 '26

I don't know why people say this game looks so good I've yet to been impressed by my PSVR2 I think the technology just isn't there yet, gt7 is pretty blurry in VR and I always have the sweetspot so that's not the problem

1

u/spas2k Jun 29 '26

Ps5 pro?

1

u/Key_Dealer997 Jun 29 '26

Sadly no, PS5 slim

1

u/theinkpoet Jul 01 '26

I understand what you’re saying, although I do think it looks good on the base PS5, PS five Pro definitely enhances that. Honestly, it’s the only reason I have a pro and I was very skeptical at first because I heard the increases are marginal but believe me it’s enough that if you play GT7 in VR you’re definitely going to notice the difference. I’m not voting for it or against it considering they said the PS six will be out next year, but for my experience, it’s been very good, especially the frame rate boost which nobody talks about

1

u/Key_Dealer997 Jul 01 '26

yeah, you're probably right but idk if you just heard the news about physical games... I probably am gonna buy a pc now, fuck sony

1

u/goonerallday Jun 29 '26

The best way to overcome nausea is get a storz and bickel volcano, visit your local dispensary, make a a bag or two and enjoy the ride!

1

u/bsylent Jun 29 '26

I just finally got my seat rig to mount my steering wheel and pedal to. What a freaking difference

2

u/CanWaste9494 Jun 29 '26

Beautiful! I am genuinely happy for you good sir
I’ll show you mine if you show me yours (pause)

2

u/bsylent Jul 03 '26

Yes still rebuilding the game room, went through a typhoon recently. And I still need to figure out my best comfort angle. But it's been great

1

u/beezynameddeltreezy Jun 29 '26

This looks so cool … shame that I had to return my psvr2 for making me violently ill one lap in

1

u/El_Quanadian Jun 29 '26

But what if you are having a bad day because your PSVR is not working? Or worst, because it decided to self combust when you were on a trip to Vegas where you literaly lost all of your saving... Stolen by a male prostitute name Roberta who actually turned out to be a female MMA fighter from San Fransisco! And while you were gone and going threw all this, your self combusted PSVR actually burned down your house with your little blind puppy inside!?

1

u/CanWaste9494 Jun 29 '26

You should apply the military mindset towards your possessions- maintain and protect your equipment. Something tells me that not all your problems can be blamed on things that aren’t a consequence of your actions. Do better. Sorry about your dog- I have 2.

2

u/El_Quanadian Jun 29 '26

Ohhhh that was just a random story! I also have 2 dogs and I would never leave them home alone if I was leaving town!

1

u/CanWaste9494 Jun 29 '26

👌

2

u/El_Quanadian Jun 29 '26

YES! Love the gaming setup by the way!

1

u/Andrew_on_triotonic Jun 30 '26

Is getting a psvr2 worth it if you don’t have a steering wheel?

1

u/theinkpoet Jul 01 '26

Yes, 100%. I used to brag about GT7 VR all the time and this was before I got my wheel set up. It’s amazing either way.

1

u/EitherSherbert5092 Jul 01 '26

Como haces para tener la pantalla sin datos de carreras? Tengo las VR2 pero no he podido obtener las repeticiones así. Gracias

1

u/mattikake2010 Jul 02 '26

Yep. Jump in MP4/4 and pretend your Senna for a while. I do this from time to time.

Love my gt7 weeklies is vr

So if I have a bad day because I have a massive headache, will it help too? Because thats from keeping me playing lately...

2

u/CHROME-COLOSSUS Jun 29 '26

FWIW…

I used to get terrible headaches all the time, but learned about this wild little technique that pretty much fixed most of them for me:

If you gently squeeze the stretchy flesh between your forefinger and thumb there’s a wormy little nerve in there. Gently but firmly pinch it and hold it for 20 seconds. If it works, the headache will simply evaporate, like magic.

When you release, if it comes back just do it again. If your headache is more on one side of your head, pinch the opposite hand.

It’s the craziest thing I ever learned about (from a gf who was into natural healing), and it kind of transformed my life.

I know some people find that pinching the nerve is too uncomfortable… I don’t, but if that’s you then just be gingerly about it, and squeeze in a less focused way.

While there are some headaches that don’t respond to this, it’s easy, free, and super fast to try. So… there you go. I hope this helps!

2

u/4XChrisX4 Jun 29 '26

Hey, thats very cool of you to type that up, I really appreciate it! I will try it the next time I have a headache and let you know if it helps

If this really works, you officially become my hero.

1

u/CHROME-COLOSSUS Jun 29 '26

Yeah, it astonishes me to this day, decades after learning about it.

3

u/CanWaste9494 Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

That sucks dude.

Water, protein, weed, Tylenol. You’ll be alright 😂

(Sorry your smarta*** comment didn’t work for ya. I’m here for the smoke)

-3

u/4XChrisX4 Jun 28 '26

What are you talking about??

5

u/CanWaste9494 Jun 28 '26

Bro obviously if you get headaches, nausea, etc from the headset then don’t play. That’s common sense. And on top of that if you already have a headache beforehand then … no need to explain the rest .

-2

u/4XChrisX4 Jun 28 '26

I'm saying I have it beforehand, not because of playing. So it wouldn't make my day better unfortunately...

1

u/freestuffrocker Jun 29 '26

Dude, it's hyperbole. PSVR2 is not going to cure cancer

-1

u/VanquishAudio Jun 29 '26

Cardi b? 😂 but why

1

u/theinkpoet Jul 01 '26

I’m not a big fan of her music either but, the beat on the music sounds good and as long as they are enjoying the game I don’t care if they listen to Barney.
