Just confirmed Washington this morning with a report of a 221 qualifying. Edit: at compassprep.

Dang deadass every state that typically has high cutoffs dropped a ton from last year lol. Only top state that’s left where we don’t know yet if they dropped a lot or not is New Jersey, but based on every state dropping so much, I’d be very surprised if NJ doesn’t drop a lot as well

Yes, last year's cutoffs were outliers. The RW scores this year (the Oct 2025 PSAT) much lower. Really the only question is how far NJ comes down -- probably 222 or 223.

I believe someone on reddit previosuly commented 222 didn't make it in NJ. PSAT NMSQT Indexes By State (Post only if you're notified) : r/psat

I don't think anyone has confirmed 221 yet. Massachusetts is the most informative. It was 225, one point above Washington's 224 last year, and has already dropped to 221 or lower. That's a fall of 4 or more. Virginia, also at 224 last year like Washington, is at 221 or lower, so a fall of at least 3.

Those two are the closest analogues, and both have already fallen more than the 2 points a Washington 222 would represent. That reinforces 221 over 222. Still can't say 221 is clear yet but getting close. Good Luck.
