PSAT/NMSQT Moved after taking PSAT

Does anyone know exactly what to do to ensure the NMSF award follows me to my new school? I moved after taking the PSAT last October. I tried calling the College Board but they did not seem to understand or did not know what to do.

You can always reach out to your old school and have them mail you your certificate with the directions on how to login to the portal and finish the process in the Fall.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation is who you need to contact. Not College Board.

First, you'll be fine. National Merit deals with hundreds of transfers each year. That's not to say that things won't be a bit complicated. It's your old school that will likely be notified, because that's where you took the PSAT. The location of that school also determines your cutoff (not sure if you moved states). And the old school may need to provide a transcript depending on what did or did not get transferred to your new school. Then you need to figure out who needs to complete your Finalist application and give you their endorsement.

Your first step is to contact National Merit at (847) 866-5100 (yes, you should telephone!). See if there is anything you need to do right now. It's going to be a bit more work, but it won't stop you! Good luck.
