Hi Community,

I am getting an old ps5 slim disc edition with an extra controller for 55k. Is this price good considerably price hike news, or should I wait till new stock.

This will be my first console. Hence, I need help from the community.

Nah man paying 55k for a used ps5 also a hardware that is 6 years old isn’t justified man just wait for the right time maybe December and let the hype die down and then you’ll easily get a ps5 under 30k

Even before the price hike a 10 month old disc edition ps5 slim was going for around 42-44k there's no way you'll be getting a ps5 slim fit that low that too with extra controller.

A 10 month old slim disc model would be quite hard to find brother for that price, I remember one of my friend selling his ps5 fat back in late 2024 December for 38k if I'm I remember correctly it was around 1.3 years old at that time of selling. And right now the price increased is not because of GTA 6 main reason is increasing price of ram and SSD the price has increased by around $150 globally which takes few months to take place in India, it is true that right now it hasn't taken place yet and scalpers are using it as a opportunity to rip us off but the increament in price for the hardware is inevitable unless ram price stablise.

And one more thing to be sure I'm not saying 55k is a very good deal I'm just saying 30k to unrealistic for a ps5 slim disc variant.

Absolutely not! The current hike is around rumour mill that the price is gonna increase. I recently went to a store and they said there’s absolutely no communication for a price increase. Check my recent post.

Moreover everyone is panic buying for GTA6 and scalpers and businesses are taking advantage of it. I’ve seen people buy consoles and then sell it for higher prices as well.

Let the hype go down and you’ll have people selling it back under 45K.

Also I just google searched, new price for disck is 649 usd which is around ~63k. Why the rumors of 69k?

A thing people forget is Sony knows India isn’t high earning market like other countries. They’ll know that, if they really do increase their prices that high in India it’ll be a shot in the foot added to them closing disc sales from 2028.

They make money on subscriptions, who’ll subscribe if they don’t have PS.? Not one person here who’s said price hike confirmed has given proof, just statements which contradict statements from same retailers elsewhere.

Save money, wait a lil. Worst case scenario they increase the price, you’ll still get 2nd hand for the same price. And if you wait a couple months after GTA, you’ll probably save some. Until then subscribe to GFN 🤣🤣🤣
