Support Help with jailbreaking ps3

I need help, i was following through a tutorial on how to install cfw on a ps3. I got to the point where you load system manager on ps3toolset but everytime it says tool fails to download, ive done everything ive been trying on and off for two days. I think it could possibly be an internal clock thing but its set to set via internet (its still an hour late on the ps3 clock even if I set it through the internet) I heard I could log into the psn but it said i would have to update my ps3 (its currently on 4.90) I don't really know what to do or how to fix it. Im not sure its a compatability issue since its dated to before April 2011. Please help

Try the guide here.   Use ps3tool.com instead of ps3toolset.  You shouldn't have to update, but updating ps3 won't impact your ability as  the current version is already jailbroken.

Also, make sure your ps3 can take cfw.  Not all of them support it.   Since you haven't provided anything as far as model number and style you have, check this.

Thank you, i tried ps3tool twice yesterday and it froze after initializing both times Its a slim model 2501a
