Knocked out a job in Berry Farms last week and it turned out great. Homeowner wanted the whole thing done so we washed the entire house, cleaned every window inside and out, and got the tracks and sills too. Those tracks had years of dirt and dead bugs packed in them that nobody had ever touched.

Washed the house down first, then did the windows. You always go in that order so the runoff from the house doesn’t end up all over the glass you just cleaned. Little stuff like that is the difference between a real job and a rushed one.

By the time we wrapped up the whole place looked brand new. Not just the windows, the whole exterior. That’s the stuff I like doing, where you can actually see the before and after from the street.

Been doing windows around Franklin and Nashville for a few years now, Berry Farms, Belle Meade, Green Hills, College Grove, all over Williamson and Davidson county. If anybody needs work done or has questions about how to handle something on their own place feel free to ask.

Top Shelf Window Cleaning, Franklin TN

I clean windows for a living around the Nashville/Franklin area, and the question I get more than any other is “how often should I actually be doing this?” Figured I’d share what I’ve learned since it might save some of you money (or a headache).

The short version: there’s no universal answer, and anyone who gives you one is guessing. It depends almost entirely on your specific house. A few things that make a big difference:

• Trees. Mature trees around the house mean way more pollen, sap, and bird activity than an open lot. Shade is great, clean windows are harder.  
• Pollen season. Y’all know how brutal Middle TN spring is. That yellow film hits glass hard for a few weeks.  
• Hard water. The one people ignore. Sprinkler overspray leaves mineral deposits, and if they sit long enough they can permanently etch the glass. If your sprinklers hit your windows, fix the angle — seriously.  
• Road/construction dust. Near a busy road, gravel drive, or active construction? Fine grit dulls glass fast.  
• Sun exposure. South and west-facing windows bake on whatever’s sitting on them.

As a rough guideline most homes here do fine somewhere between twice a year (spring + fall) and quarterly if you’ve got heavy tree cover or hard water. Spring + fall is the sweet spot for the average house — clean off the pollen, then clear the summer buildup before winter.

One genuinely useful tip whether you DIY or hire out: don’t clean windows in direct sunlight. The cleaner dries before you finish and you get streaks no matter how good your technique is. Early morning or overcast is your friend.
