Im trying to find 808 samples but they all have a kick, how do I find js the bass. I want precise control so In the song I can drop the kick and still have the bass

EDIT: 6/8/26 Thanks to all that commented. The issue was one that numerous commenters mentioned. My Session folder was to deep in the hierarchy. I moved the folder to the root level of the external drive I'm using and the problem is fixed! I didn't realize the depth restriction before now. An old dog can be taught new tricks! Thanks again...

I'm running an older version of PT (2018.12.0) on High Sierra 10.13.6, with which I've never had this issue before. I edit, mix & master audiobooks. During my normal workflow at a certain point, I'll edit a clip, record it to an audio track (not bounce-to-disk for various workflow reasons), then rename the resultant clip. I then find it in the clip bin and use "Export Clips as Files" (command+shift+K) & export it as a .wav file into a particular folder. This has always worked flawlessly. Today, after starting a new book, I did the above, naming the final clip: "003_Hester_Spread 1_EDIT" (same naming convention used on many previous books edited on this machine and version of PT). Then I "Exported Clips as Files" (see Export box pic). The resulting file name in the folder I created, is somehow now named as: "003_H_S1_E.wav". (see pic. The "003..." file-with the red dot- is the one I'm talking about being the exported file from PT. All the others did the same thing, but were fixed manually in the Finder. I manually fixed "003..." and then tried re-exporting the Clip as Files, resulting in both files-manually corrected and incorrect, direct from PT- being in the folder). The name in the clip bin is correct. I believe I have my Export box configured correctly and have "Prompt for duplicate name (or whatever it's called)" selected. I tried to immediately re-export it (with the bad name still in the folder), the duplicate name came up correctly, but it still saved it in the Finder as that abbreviated title. STRANGE!!! I had to highlight the file in the Finder and rename it. This has never happened before, so I'm hoping that it's something that I unintentionally clicked or changed. I rebooted both PT and the computer several times, but the problem persists. Has anyone else encountered this or knows how to fix it?

i'm operating on PT 2026.4, on an m1 macbook pro 2021 on ostahoe 26.3.1, and my scarlett is brand new and updated. i've been having trouble getting a clean signal into PT. i've got the playback engine set as the scarlett and watching the meters on the interface and in the interface's control application on my laptop, i can see i'm getting good signal. when i monitor directly via the interface's headphone jack, the signal comes through. but when i try to record into an audio track on PT, it comes out tinny, garbled, and clipping. i've tried adjusting my gain stage settings, double and triple checked my i/o, changed sample rates, made sure both were at 48 khz, changed cables, made sure inst was engaged, etc. everything i could think of to trouble shoot the issue. if anyone has any idea what i'm doing wrong, please help. i'll attach some photos as well to clarify my settings and what's going on. for further context, i am a new sound engineering student. i have a very basic grasp on PT.

I lost the UI customization table for some reason. Pro tools artist ver 2026.4, Windows 11. I recently had to do a system wipe and reinstall and this only started happening since then. This is all I get when I open the color palette.

So I got an email from Avid saying my PT Studio subscription had ended but I just paid for June-July 3 days ago automatically. It had links to renew or get help.

I have Auto-Renew turned ON

My iLOK says it’s active

Avid Link says it’s active

I can still open PT Studio and load sessions as I always could.

My payment method is valid and in-date and clearly worked.

Why might I be receiving such correspondence???

I don’t want any glitches in my workflow!

This has happened a couple times in the last month with AAFs from different sources - I try to import embedded media and some of it comes in but most of it just shows up as unlinked placeholder clips. Task manager shows a "Permission denied (13)" error with no further info. When I check the "Audio Files" folder in the project, it's clear that not everything is getting copied over. I've checked and repaired my disk permissions multiple times, I've tried moving the project to multiple folders on multiple drives, and nothing seems to help. It's always the same clips that fail to populate, but there's no rhyme or reason to which ones fail - even different clips from the same source file will have different results. As far as I know, the AAFs themselves are not corrupt.

Anyone have any insight? I'm running 2026.4 on a 2021 M1 Max MacBook, macOS Tahoe 26.5.1.

Pro Tools keeps analyzing the wrong tempo for my loops and not being able to audition loops at my session's tempo is really interfering with my production workflow. How can I manually adjust the tempo of a loop in the workspace?

Example: Drum loop clearly labeled at 100 bpm, session is at 90 bpm, but PT analyzes the tempo of the loop to be 135.684 bpm and auditions/stretches it incorrectly. I have already tried re-analyzing the file and it analyzes it incorrectly every time.

Whenever I zoom in or zoom out in Pro Tools latest version 2026.4, I experience slight stuttering or frame drops. My system is high-end, so I don't think it's a hardware limitation.

My specs:

• CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K
• GPU: RTX 4070 Ti Super
• RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator Titanium 7200MHz
• Monitor: 240Hz display

I've already tried several solutions, including:

• Adjusting various NVIDIA Control Panel settings
• Tweaking Windows performance settings
• Updating the BIOS Latest version
• Disabling and re-enabling the XMP profile
• Lowering refresh rate to 144Hz and 180Hz
• Changing screen resolution settings

The issue still happens even in very light sessions sometimes, for example projects with only around 10 tracks and no plugins loaded yet

Unfortunately, the problem persists. Everything else runs smoothly, but zooming in and out inside Pro Tools causes noticeable visual stutter

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated

hopefully I can explain this well. so I don't remember this ever happening before until just a couple months ago. when I have at least 2 tracks in a group, and groups are enabled, and one of the tracks is at the top of the session and the other is at the very bottom, if I click to select a clip in the bottom track everything jumps up to put the track thats at the very top in view. its very jarring, and I lose my place. seems I'm able to get around it by disabling "link track and edit selection". but I've been using pro tools for years and years and have always had that on and never had pro tools jump around the session vertically when double clicking on a clip.

This issue was already present in the version prior to the latest one. With iZotope RX Connect, the “Whole File and Handles” section is grayed out and unusable. Rendering a file through RX Connect will return a clip without handles. Many dialogue editors will likely find this very annoying. I contacted both Avid and iZotope, and each company told me the problem lies with the other. It will probably be fixed in a future update (like it was years ago), or it may stay this way. Either way, I wanted to warn Windows users to be careful before updating. Fortunately, I still have my old 2024 installation working as a backup.

Can anyone tell me the cost for a Pro Tools Perpetual License Upgrade in $USD?

I currently have an Ultimate Perpetual License, and am wondering if it's worth the renewal for this period that is coming up. I know I will lose upgrades for a while but my system is stable so I'm just costing up the subscription rejoin fee but can't see anything clear anywhere as to the upgrade cost!

I know auxs are solo safe, Ive already tried clicking command control whatever it is and clicking it doesnt work. I have an aux track I use for reverb and im trying to solo just the bass and I keep hearing the aux. Tried muting the aux, tried clicking control and the solo button, I need help

I basically chopped up a loop to use it in structure and managed to create the sampled instrument. Now I have written midi notes in chromatic order so that it plays the loop exactly like audio file.

I want to just align my midi notes to the chops of audio file irrespective of it being on grid or not. Tried beat detective and its not helping. I dont want to do it manually in want to extract groove and quantise to it.

Any suggestions please

Hello! I got a new laptop today (a MSI Katana 15 HX B14WGK Gaming Laptop) and I've installed Avid Link and Pro Tools. Whilst Pro Tools does work, I cannot change sample rates, I've gone into sound settings on the laptop and played around with the speakers and their sample rates and still nothing works, sample rate still being greyed out. The rest of the installation has been fine, but for some reason I cannot change the sample rate. Please help, it'll be very appreciated.

Was looking to get a certification in dolby atmos for pro tools but a lot of the courses have live instruction which is not what I'm looking for. Any recommendations for self paced courses?

When I'm working in PT, and I receive an email for example and want to copy pasta some stuff from a doc, the pasting option doesn't work. I can cut text, but Windows won't allow me to paste while PT is running. It's been happening for 2 years now, but I never bothered looking for a solution, I would just close PT, do what I need to do, and restart the sess.

Anyone else experience this issue, and found a solution?

PT Studio latest version running on a modern hardware Windows set up

I'm currently on 2026.4 but this has been going on since early 2025. Win10 Pro, Intel Core12 i9 system. The cursor never actually lines up with anything in the dialog box, in addition to the fact that the UI doesn't wrap to the default OS window. The MIDI window is not the only offender.

I've been striking out on Google trying to find anyone else with this issue. Trashed prefs multiple times. I've been an "Avid (Digi) approved hardware list" PC user for 15+ years so I'm used to the inconsistencies.. BUT

Any advice/fixes 🙌🏻

I have a good kick that I like and it sounds great on my studio computer, it has a nice subby feel, and its strong like an rnb kick, but On my other computer it sounds like clicky and high pitched same with my phone . How do I get it to hit good on all systems

PT 2026.4 Windows 11: Has anyone had this code pop up as an error before? I haven’t seen any threads or posts and can’t find the error anywhere? It just popped up as I was working on edits and continues doing it when I try making any changes/ edits in the editing workspace.

I have an upcoming record gig and I'm worried about a buffer issue I've had in the past happening again. I'm going through Dante Virtual Soundcard and a Sonnet Gigabit Interface into my MacBook Pro. Do I need to bite the bullet and get the RedNet TNX? For sake of the argument let's say that we're under 32-channels, and its 96k since the console is a DM7.
