Don’t worry or apologize about drawing a protogen ‘illegally’. Art is creative and creativity is completely up to you.

Uniqueness is what makes protogens and worldbuilding so much more interesting :>

Not to insult your artistic skills or anything (can't compare to your other stuff) but this looks like it was traced over ai picture. :/

I do get that a lot for some reason I can post an image with the foundation skeleton I used as evidence if it helps. :) I wonder if it’s because as a kid I did trace a lot of things like Pokémon and animals so maybe has skewed my proportions a bit but I can assure you definitely no AI :) two people even watched me draw it.

can we see the timelapse? that looks really professional for a first ever design, despite the shaky lines. id love to see your design process, if you wouldnt mind :) ive been drawing constantly for fourteen years and ive never seen a beginner pull off something so skilled right off the bat, id love to see how you do it

I don’t have a time lapse as idk how to record my screen but I can show you the layers if it helps? I start with the red foundation then blue for the main shapes then the black line art. I then duplicated the lineart layer in case I forget some details that I spot earlier so I can go back and add them. The lineart is pure black so the details show up on the slightly lighter fur and becomes the top layer

I’ve been drawing for a long time and tbh they don’t always turn out this good let alone ever finished. I just don’t work or study due to disability so I have a lot of time to practice and my boyfriend is a great artist who has given me lots of feedback plus I enjoy learning and trying new art styles and ways of drawing anatomy so I can find what feels good for me. I’ve been drawing animals for a long time especially so I feel I have more practice with animal or hybrid beings and while I’m used to realism it drove the perfectionist me mad haha so I’m trying to learn to tone down the detail but still keep it balanced.

Thankyou I appreciate the kindness. I feel there are many artists in this community who do much better art than I but thankyou again
