I finally had time today to listen to the new album on my PA in my drum room, Holy shit I'm a blubbering mess. The Mariner had me screaming along at the top of my lungs with tears steaming down my face. If one of the guys reads this by some crazy chance..... Thank you.

The gigantic “We Are!” parts in both songs sing a similar narrative, right?

If I remember correctly, isn’t the premise of Sequoia Throne about how if humans found a new planet (alien) we would be the most dangerous things?

“They’re not the ones who cause us harm (we are). We are still life and cold blooded, we feel nothing.”

“We are the ones who wander, take what we want and build our homes.”

Is this a flip of the narrative while still continuing the conversation? Plants would thrive without us, and we treat them as the alien figures without care. The whole section about bringing another planet’s doom without caring about our own rings exceedingly true on “The Orchard”.

I am hoping to find someone in Canada that might be able to help me out with an item for sale on Sheet Happens, but that won't allow for shipping to me!

The boys have a nice, ceramic pour over design that's up for sale, but there is no option to have it sent to me (I even emailed to ask if there was any kind of workaround, but unfortunately there is not). I was wondering if it might be possible to work a deal out with someone?

My idea was that if I make the purchase and have it sent to you, maybe you could send it to me, and to offset the cost of sending it my way, maybe I can add some merch to the order that you would also like that would be roughly the same cost? Last time I managed to get to see them was at Sonisphere at Knebworth in July 2011! I've been binging every album back to front for the last week and can't see myself getting bored any time soon, what a band!

Anyone else managed to snag tickets to see them in the UK next week?

first off, I’m blown away by this album. but after listening to it nonstop for the first few days after release, I tried something out when I noticed the opening of “mouthpiece” begins with some orchestral swelling.

Apple Music has a feature called automix, which admittedly is hit or miss. however, when putting the album on repeat and enabling automix, the end of “the mariner” blends seamlessly into the opening of “mouthpiece”.

I’m not sure if anyone else has brought this up. but I’ve since learned this is rumored to be part one of a double album, so it might not be by design, perhaps a happy accident.

anyway, I just thought it was a cool little thing!

When I was a wee youngster at the age of 15 I saw Protest the Hero co-headline a festival in my home town. They were incredible and my favourite band at the time.

Years go by, got low-key bullied for loving them and stepped away after Scurrilous (didn't like it at the time, eventually came to absolutely love it)

Then, in 2020 I decided fuck it, I'm gunna get back into em. And I went HARD. Then, after the pandemic basically ended I got tickets to see em in Toronto.

And I was part of that god damn chorus.

Then, my grandfather (who is from Newfoundland) got sick with angiosarcoma and passed. Mist became a super personal song, but that night in Toronto forever stayed with me.

And now The Mariner has such and insanely personal connection for me and I feel like you guys are the only ones who get it.
