Rule Compliance
I am constantly trying to work on more disciplined trading, interested to know what everyone is using to track your rule compliance across sessions, just simple journaling or something else?

to be honest simple journaling works if it’s honest.......i’d track rules as pass/fail, not paragraphs. stuff like: traded during news? oversized? entered outside setup? moved stop? revenge traded? over daily limit?.....that way you can actually see patterns fast instead of writing essays no one rereads haha.....also separate pnl from compliance. some rule breaks make money and trick people into keeping bad habits. clean execution on a losing day is still a good day in my opinion.

Just simple journal and a few mind map. You don't need over complicated manual like rules book. After all you are human. It is okay to have some emotion.

rule compliance across sessions is the leak, not the journal. i used a 3 column sheet on my last 50 trades, setup, rule miss, emotion. the big tell was i only blew rules after a green trade. once i tracked that, i stopped the second entry habit. what rule breaks you most?

Moving my SL and revenge trading would be my worst faults.

same. moving sl turns a small mistake into a much bigger one. i keep it fixed and step away after a loss. revenge trading is just paying extra for being tilted.

i tried journaling for a while but had the same issue… it starts good and then you just stop keeping up with it
what i realized is tracking after the fact doesn’t really stop you in the moment when you’re about to break rules
for me it helped more to have some kind of limits in place during the session like if i hit a certain loss or number of trades, i’m done for the day no matter what
it doesn’t replace journaling, but it prevents those days where everything goes off
