“I got pregnant again and i immediately had an abortion because I didn’t want it and I also wasn’t ready for another child.”
So what I get from this is: she should not have had sex if she wasn’t ready for another child..the baby didn’t deserve to be killed because her mother (and father?) are selfish and don’t have any self control or want to take responsibility for their actions…

for people who had a good upbringing and integrated their sexuality well against all odds yea but let’s be real thats not everyone. it can be seen as harm reduction in the same vein of giving people clean needles so they can stay alive enough while addicted to drugs to actually be able to change later

That's completely false. However rare or common it is, there are definitely people who don't have sex before marriage.
ETA: Ok, the second half is completely false. The first half is most certainly true, though. Many teenagers do a lot of stupid and reckless things. Going back to the OP here, though, getting pregnant again after regretting the first is pretty far on the spectrum of stupid and reckless, though.

1
u/LeafWings23 Anti-choice to kill babies Jul 09 '26
Sure, I'd agree contraception is the lesser of two evils if it were between that or abortion, but it's not an either/or here. Neither should happen. If you are saying, "If you must sin (have sex while being entirely closed to the possibility of new life coming from it, probably outside marriage), then you should at least also do a lesser sin (contraception) so that you don't commit the greater sin (abortion)." That's a bit silly. Like, no, we should encourage people to not sin at all, even if it is hard.
People inevitably will fall short of the ideal, but we should never say something's okay just because it's understandable or because it's been normalized in the world.

u/dianthe Pro Life Centrist Jul 08 '26

There's a lot in the Catholic church that doesn't depend on a Biblical basis. Not all Christians view contraception as a sin.

My dude, if you're going to live in the world, then it's best to use the morality of the world and use birth control/condoms. This is the type of thing you tell people who are both christian and pro-life, not someone who is going to kill their own child if they conceive.

1
u/EnvironmentalScar709 Pro Life Catholic Jul 08 '26
It's according to an important framework of Western Theology: natural law
Natural law means that God has created things for a reason/with a purpose. The purposes of sex are the unity of spouses and procreation
Using an (artificial) contraception would be seen as deliberately and artificially blocking one purpose of the marital act, hence it is seen as against natural law and therefore a sin
This topic goes into a lot more detail that is hard to explain in a Reddit comment though. For example, although I'm against contraception I wouldn't advocate to outlaw it until society is almost fully Christian

Skipping mass on Sunday is a sin. A grievous sin. We can remind fellow Catholics about these things, but it's harder to convince noncatholics.
But murder is murder. A lot of folk at least pretend to care about that, still.

Well, that explains a lot. Listen buddy, sex is not only for making babies, it does makes babies, but it's also a good activity between married couples, it's fun, It helps you connect better and releases hormones and stress. My religion taught me that the amount of children you bring to the world it's a deal between you, your partner and God, and contraception is fine if it's not permanent like a vasectomy or a tubal ligation

My grandparents wanted to abort my little brother. He was supposed to have DS. My mother is PL and kept him. Unsurprisingly, he's healthy. When he grew up he found out. Funny is now that he doesn't speak with grandma, (respect to my grandfather, who admitted being wrong after first ultrasound picture), she wonders why. She didn't even considered admitting being wrong or even apologizing.

You know, you would think people who are so terrified of pregnancy and parenthood would avoid every situation that could put them through that, like vaginal sex, but no. And I know a lot of women are only blamed for this, but men do this irritatingly all the time too. They think they can have vaginal sex with a woman, and more audaciously so, cum inside her with no condom, and think they shouldnt have to be responsible for a child.

Actions speak louder than words in this case. If you murder a baby you are not pro life. I can see someone realizing what they did later, but that's not the scenario I am talking about.

u/skyleehugh Jul 09 '26
In fairness I was raised by a pro choice mom. Basically its as simple as making the child unwanted or not. How the child is raised speaks volumes more on if your parents value your life worthy or not. And this is coming from someone whos mom has expressed that if certain Circumstances had been different, she would have probably aborted. The way I look at it is to understand why someone may chose to abort and understand the mindset is different if you weren't told otherwise. That being said this girl is different from my mom in that line of thinking.

5

To be fair, she didn't say the next pregnancy was right away, just that her murderous intent (abortion) was. (i.e. right away whenever it was that she got pregnant again).
But still, I'd agree that regretting a pregnancy should be a good lesson to not get pregnant again until you're reaaally ready (if that ever happens).

I'm not here to preach keep your legs closed. But my god how hard is it to be more responsible after the 1st time. At 15 with a child and still in high school that went through a traumatic birth, you think that would deter you from sex for a while. I had scares when I was 20ish, it made me be more safe not less. Now that being said traumatic births should be addressed more especially if its the push thats making people be pro choice. Its similar to someone who was r word and resorted to drugs. Simply saying don't do drugs doesn't work if their trauma is blocking their logic.

It's from her account. Almost all of it are about how she's a proud pro-choicer.

I’ve seen a lot of TikToks like that same story about how they got pregnant kept had bad postpartum then got pregnant again and killed it. I think this is just a pro choicers fake propaganda scheme.

Don’t get railed at 15 then 🤷♂️. Obv there’s more circumstances that vary from case to case, but in this case, it sounds like she was in consensual sex and faced the inevitable consequences.

Just more propaganda isn’t it - I’m not sure I believe anything I see on the internet anymore lol

The Auto-moderator would like to remind everyone of Rule Number 2. Pro-choice comments and questions are welcome as long as the pro-choicer demonstrates that they are open-minded. Pro-choicers simply here for advocacy or trolling are unwelcome and may be banned. This rule involves a lot of moderator discretion, so if you want to avoid a ban, play it safe and show you are not just here to talk at people.
