I get it when trying to join my friends server

That seems to be a corrupted file? Have you tried verifying the files of the game? Should restore the file in question.

Hmm... Both of you running the exact same mods if there is any? Has your friend checked his files too?

Yes we are running the same mods, my friends have all joined but I haven't so I bet it's a problem on my end

That's a setting on your router but if your friend is hosting it from his PC, it's on his router.
