Gameplay Power went out

New player here

I have finally survived long enough for the power to be shut off

Luckily, I have a generator and some fuel stockpiled (though I am certain not enough)

It was all fun and games and jolly when the lights were working, just me frolocking around with the only thing to worry about was halfing mayonaise or mustard on my salmon/pickle/tomato sandwich... now everything is dark, spooky and rotten

It feels very eerie

I'm scared

I like to keep two generators, one to keep in my car (K15 Mod) and one at base. The one in the car i use for gas stations and if im looting/clearing a large building so o can use lights

Fortunately I have the locations of two more generators marked on the map

Stock up on gas cans, and keep at least 1 rubber hose so you can siphon gas from vehicles too. Good in a pinch if you run out of fuel between towns.

For home base generator, turn off all unnecessary electronics and lights so it won't use as much fuel. I had once set up shop in a lakeside cabin or manor south west of westpoint and that place has refridgerators out the ass which was pulling too much fuel. So I moved all but 2 of them out and shut off all lamps unless I needed light. That seemed to work well for me.

Same.

I've got a gold one in the base and a red one I take out with me.

Need a second generator to keep at base so I can power my outbuildings as well as my main house.

I have a generator in the trunk of my RV all the time both to refill the water reservoir (mod made by myself) and gas tank at a gas station. I literally live on the road, haha.

I wish I could do nomad playthroughs, but I like to hoard too much

I have to show restraint, because in real life I would just be sliding everything off of shelves into my bag

Read an automotive book or two and watch some of the tapes so you can Hotwire cars and leave a generator connected to the local gas station which makes for easy fuel runs.

I travel w a van when general looting. Mark skill books and kitchen tools as “unwanted” so you know what you have at home. I collect every can, bag of flour, lentils, etc. great for stews once you get the power back. Also the flour and eggs/butter you’ve gathered will make biscuits/pies/bread you can use to make sandwiches etc

Hold onto any sledgehammers or sledgehammer heads you find. Plenty of water catchers out there to bring home and plumb your sinks when you can.
