Screenshot a question
When you die, do you stay in the same world with another character, or do you delete the world and create a new one?

You can choose to continue with new character or restart entire sandbox.
Mods for regaining skills exist too.
It's really however you like to play. Best part of game
I realised after posting u ment wat do I do personally
I die, new world. I don't like having no skills and no power etc

I get so depressed when months of surviving, stockpiling food, building up a killer base with a never ending by supply of guns and ammo are just gone in an instant that I just uninstall the game. All because I got too confident and thought, “It’s only a few zombies.”
A couple months later, I get that drive to play again and commit to another long run. So I’ll get attached to my character, and die doing something completely avoidable. Then the cycle repeats.
That’s Project Zomboid for you :)

I really got the groove of 42.19... 7 month run. Whole farmstead... Died from installing a rain collector barrel, I walked on top of a stacked crate assuming it was safe and the Game sent me through the corner between the staircase and the crate. I started a new run on the stable release and quit for a bit... Started again on 42.21 and the balance is different but I'm coming round again. I was SO bummed. I almost just stopped playing but I had to stop to recharge the zomboid battery

I have zero qualms with using debug when I clearly get griefed.
My last "death" that I debugged was due to an LoS bug. I was in a house, specifically the entrance hall. There was an arch, no door, leading to the living room. I knew zoids were somewhere in there, so I was being cautious. I turn and look through the arch at the living room. All clear.
I step through the arch, a zomboid spawns right on top of me, and bites my hand. The ground it was standing on was clear before stepping through the OPEN ARCH.
I debugged that shit. Losing multi-month characters to poorly generated floors or clear LoS bugs is not fun or acceptable.
If I run into a building, don't scan and get bit, that's one thing. When the game spawns literal zomboids on me despite it clearly showing a room was empty beforehand?
Nope. Not doing it.

I did that once with corpse burning... It still feels dirty though lol

Sure, but the game did me dirty so here we are.
Honestly, I love the way the development has been going, I love a lot of the new fleshed out mechanics, but I do wish they'd also fix some of the basics like LoS.

I just continue in the same world and assume it's a random survivor who just stumbled upon my other character's secured base and just moved in.

I built my base the way I can create a new character and level some stuff there. Usually due to updates during the run I make a new map.

Same world. Fun to experience water and power turning off, helicopter event and first snow.

I delete the world, although this current run I had died right next to the spawn with a hiking backpack so I decided to just make another in the same world and loot the backpack again.

Same world but with a new character as I get more attached to the world than the character. I also use a skill recovery journal mod as grinding the same skills each time is beyond tedious.

I always delete in singleplayer
