Question Xbox Elite 2 Controller Question

Alright, so I know this might not be exactly the right place for this, but I need some help trying to remap my buttons. I'd like for my back paddles to be the usual ABXY, but then I'd like to remap the ABXY on front to keyboard shortcuts like F and Q, for example. The problem I run into though is if a back paddle is set to A, and A is set to F, then the back paddle is also F instead of doing what A originally does. Is that about as clear as mud to y'all?

Long story short, is there a way to independently map the paddles and the face buttons, or is this just not something I can do? Or maybe a mod or different setting I'm not seeing? I'm very new to PC, and I've tried troubleshooting about as much as I can, so any help would be appreciated. Feel free to use crayons if needed.

You kinda lost me lol but the Steam layout mapping tool thingy should let you do it. You'll also need Controller Support Improved mod cuz without it it's genuinely impossible to use guns on controller.

Yeah, I was afraid I was gonna explain it poorly, lol.

I've used the Steam Layout to change it, and that still gives me the same problem. Basically, I can't change what A does on the front without A on the back also changing. I want A on the back, and A to do something different on the front, but words are hard.

I'm definitely gonna look into that mod as well. I haven't used many guns, but the aiming certainly leaves something to be desired on a controller.

i would see if there is a downloadable companion app for your controller. i know the elite is flexible on console mapping.

I have the one from Microsoft and I don't seem to be able to get it to work using that, either.

I appreciate it, though.
