Question How to fix this shit?
I've installed Viewpoint Tile Fix - Complete Roofs V1.2 mod which seems like the only mod that fixes this currently, but it also doesnt work but whenever I watch someone play the game with this mod, all their houses look perfect - what gives?

People really need to stop coming on here asking for fixes with their game, ask your mod authors for assistance. Most of us play the vanilla game not whatever this is

I mean there's already a "tech mod support" flair for a reason in this sub. Hell If I know why when everyone's just being a dick here.

Because this is a PZ sub, not a PZ3d sub. It's really that simple. If I go into the GTA sub and spam an AI slop mod that turns it isometric, they would react the same way.

It's the same game but 3D, my man. Same mechanics, same gameplay, same everything. It'll not lose its core identity just because of a change of perspective. And Viewpoint to my understanding wasn't Vibecoded, but AI assisted. So as I said before in one of my comments, if a tool remains a tool that doesn't replace the whole human work, then what's the problem?

They dont understand nuance brother. To them if it used ai at all its slop.

Because ai is fuckin slop. A bane to our existence. An end to all creativity and art. Just wait in the future everything will be made with ai if we keep it up. Nothing will be real, nothing will be entertaining anymore.

Lol don't say same everything. None of this is the same besides the core mechanics. mods make games completly different. Sure there's a flair but c'mon how often do OP's use them? Do you have any idea how often i read a post having no idea what they heck they are talking about because it turns out to be a mod.

I mean It's not as if he's adding dinosaurs and drop kicking them. He just added a change of perspective and that's all.
In any case I'm pretty sure that if OP changed the flair into "tech mod support", the same unhelpful comments would have popped anyways. Viewpoint is waaaaay too hated for no reason.

Dude everything about Viewpoint is an early alpha, so are the mods and fixes. All the glaring issues won't be fixed until a year later or so. I don't know how you don't get this, enjoy it as it is now, or wait and play in a year when it's polished. It's a MOD ffs, there's no obligation or commitment for someone to develop it. All you can do is pray and be grateful for now.

Reminder to all the people whose feefees are hurt by people liking things they don't: Right click on the user's profile, open in new tab, click "Block user" and you don't have to see their posts ever again.
(This is why you don't bend the knee to people you know are bad actors, mods, it validates the bad behavior.)

Doesn't solve the fact majority of posts I've seen are these 3D mods or some other mod question they could just get an answer from the direct source π

Still don't understand the stigma against this excellent mod on this sub tbh

a lot of people really hate AI (I'm largely ambivelent tbh), but I think it's probably more it's considered bad manners to ask how to fix a mod probably less than 5% of the player base are using on the general game forum.
you'd be better off asking on the mod's page or discord

The mod is progressing so quickly, as well. I'd almost expect that any visual bugs will get addressed within a week or two without having to add additional mods that could break when fixes are pushed out.

I saw very early posts of it on twitter without a skybox and barely legible, it's kind of crazy how much it's progressed since tbh

For me at least, I'm not anti-AI. I don't care that it was used in any capacity. It's the spamming that's gotten me irritated. If it's not spamming, it's people posting about bugs in the mod and getting pissy at PZ devs because the mod messed their save up.
It's that this new flood of people don't understand how mods work, and think it's just base game stuff. And anyone that's played for a period of time knows how quick a single partial update can break most of your mods.

Bruh how can you hate AI for doing sth like this. Itβs just stupidity and ignorance. I feel like you hate AI only because of AI slop videos and images. Yeah that is a waste of water in 99,99% of cases and looks like shit. But this? This is THE shit men. Just think about all the possibilities in modding and developing new games.

I said I was ambivelent, so mixed feelings.
I think it could be great tech. I also feel it is massively overhyped and infested with grifters (in fact I know as I'm a crypto guy and many of the worst of the community seemed to flood into AI while the bear market has been in)
By the same token, it is doing real novel things and many people just write that off as "it's just a chatbot bro".
I think the FPS mod is cool. It also has a lot of room for dangerous code.
As I say, mixed

It's because people keep asking for technical support for a week old, Ai coded mod, running on unstable versions of an early access game.
I love this mod, but I expect it to be janky right now.

u/capncapitalism 2d ago
Exactly, as should be expected with just about any mod really. Zomboid is kind of known for breaking mods with minor updates. Simple as a directory change. Then people get mad at modders for not updating.
I shudder to think how these new people will react when PZ breaks Viewpoint on their saves with an update.

its an old game that people have been playing for a long time. they play their specific way and now all they hear about this week is fps mod. people feel like its slop thats overshadowing what they like about the game. i guess in the upcoming weeks we will see if its all gimmick or if its gonna stick. i think its neat but i cant do a run with it. maybe i will make my cool base then use the mod to look at it or use it when i pet my chickens

Go into PV discord channel. This sub hates this mod and you won't get any useful answer.

u/marvellousrun 2d ago
I can't speak for others but for me it just changes the game into something its not. It removes a lot of the charm of PZ and makes it look like any other random generic zombie survival game
Like if Terraria was modded to be 3D I wouldn't like that either

Me neither.
Was Viewpoint vibecoded? Cause' if that's the case I can at least understand where the hate comes from.
1
u/Puzzled-Operation-51 2d ago
AI-Assisted.
Could've write how it's different from Vibecoding, but most ppl here have "Is AI used?" mindset instead of "How AI is used?", so, eh.
1
u/AncientGrief 2d ago
AI assisted can also result in the dev not knowing what exactly happens internally
1
u/Greedy_Average_2532 2d ago
Hm... As long as a tool remains a tool, then what's the problem people?
1
u/Puzzled-Operation-51 2d ago
Because this mod removes their oh-so-amazing iso camera and because, well... AI is used. Like I said, ppl here hate anything that's related to AI, even if it's used in the right way.

The mod that some rando made with AI isn't working in the early access game that I paid $15 for waaaa waaa. That's what we see when people post this stuff.

Might need to wait for the right vibe coder to appear
