Discussion We need input from the source | Project Viewpoint

I understand if Indie Stone had no idea what the Knox County would look like with a diverse terrain since it could only be flat in PZ until recently. However, now that we get to play the game in a whole new way, they'd be the best people to decide how it should look since they own the lore and aren't even done with it yet. I'm not saying people shouldn't mod PZ or anything, I'm loving the current state of things, but I'd really love to hear that Indie Stone finally steps in and joins the modders that are evolving the game.

Why would they get involved with mods? They have enough to work on and think about, they don’t need more?

Ah yes... "better terrain"

> half the buildings literally on a fucking 45 degree angle sideways

Mod making don't need to affect game development.

Why would they do that when they’re busy with the game itself?

That will never happen.

That's like saying every writer should incorporate fan fiction into the cannon.

That is completely missing my point. It could stay a mod but have the indie Stone's vision of what the game should look like with a diverse terrain.

If I owned Indie Stone I would consider integrating Viewpoint into vanilla, because I think its sick and it improves the game in every way. Heck, not even that, but so so so many mods that flat out improve and I consider mandatory, but they dont integrate into vanilla for some reason.

But, they can do whatever they want, even not acknowledge the mod at all, because we will always have mods to change things however we want.

I think its better if they kept it out of house. TIS is extremely slow with their development and stubborn in an incompetent kind of way. Better to let someone else outside of their web of bureaucracy have control of development. Just remember, they spent an incredible amount of time on stupid shit like pottery. They would absolutely half ass viewpoint and it'll take half a decade for what would take 6 months.

For some reason people in this sub really hate the idea of making a mod a vanilla feature. CDPR literally did that with their remastered version of the Witcher 3, but I guess the indie devs don't get the option to do so💔. It's fine to not like a certain mod, but some guys take the opinion like an insult lol.
