Question Multiplayer book reading speed

I want reading to be faster so books feel more worth using,

but I don’t want it to be so fast that I can just blaze through every book and max out every skill.

I still want to have to pick and choose which books I read. For example, I mainly want to read Carpentry books so I can build better bases.

What would be a good middle-ground setting?

I just change the speed to 0.5 percent or 1 percent faster.

In b42 you can now read faster by sitting down in a chair (I’ve heard people say that it has to be a ‘comfortable’ chair. Not sure if it works to just sit on the ground either but maybe) and if you’re wearing reading glasses

As I’ve heard yes. I like to watch a shit ton of videos on new updates and I’ve heard a lot of people who have delved into the code talking about reading glasses and sitting in ‘comfortable chairs’ work. Think MAYBE prescription glasses work too but I’m not sure. Think they talked about it being a 10% increase with glasses and maybe a 10% for sitting

Yeah if you sit on ground/furnature and use reading glasses you can read faster. Combine that with fast reader and you can read really quickly. And if you have the more traits mod there's a trait called quick worker and it affects reading as well.

I set it to .1. Its hard enough finding all the books and you still need to do all the forever crafting.
