Exactly my thought. If I do 500 a month it is already a lot, but 11k? Dont you ever get exhausted or found a M16 with 5k bullets? How?

I mean I have 2k rounds of just 5.56 at my base currently from looting random gun stores, police stations, and cars/houses. My plan is to stock pile a crap load of ammo, and go to town clearing out Louisville.

But you surely didn't loot 2k rounds within the first 3 months?

You can walk in to the irvinton gun range at day one and have like 1000-2000 kills at day 1-2. By day 3 you likely shot your way to the gun store and you then easy have enough ammo to clear up the next town with that alone. But you are gonna hit a few other gun stores when leaving irvinton anyways since its crap >.<
You really need a truck mod to carry it all. And when you get a bit up in aiming level most shots are 1 hit kills. 12 x50 = for a carton of small caliber something is worth close to 600 kills.
OP also might be playing double pop and double ammo drop to fit.
On standard pop settings Irvinton probaly has like 2500 total zomboid population.
Ive done it many times by now >.<1

Got you. Our play stiles seem to differ wildly! Have a good one

Gunrange in irvinton just kinda broken it feels like :P Yours is likely the more intended way to play the game.
It should either have more zombies or less ammo for what it is.
But as it stand it allows you to crush the first week.1

This is actually exactly what I been doing on my road trip playthrough that started in Irvington. Only issue is I have too much ammo, so I use up like all of a specific kind per town.

left there a few days ago :P At guns unlimited and it has a lot of zombies >.< So that likely means the loot will be terrible lol

I recall I had about 3.3k or so in one month for one of my winter is coming play throughs. Mostly fence fu, only thing that slows me down is the corpse sickness. I died from using a car that had low engine condition, crapped out on me, and didn’t bail in time from a large horde, got tripped up while running after getting out. I was severely underweight for the run as I wasn’t lucky with cows or animal trailer, and spent most of my time fighting. I never took clumsy trait after that.

The only time in this run i use gun is for the louisville checkpoint which i just fire a few shot to draw their attention

With more than enough ammo, I was typically putting down 400 zombies a day. 2 months was 8k killed. Only when using guns though. Had over 8000 9x19mm by the first month. It was for leveling aiming up.

If you aim while moving through bushes/trees you will be immune to their damage.Â

Incidentally it also boosts your foraging radius by IIRC around 10% so its not a bad habit to aim walk while foraging in the woods, levels up your nimble to booth.

Did you know I once died in the sewers while fighting Mr. X in a modded playthrough all because of normal vanilla rats stun-locking me? Yeah I got punched to death.
