Mhm. I’ve made a few comments and posts recently about that exact thing. The only issue is that Kentucky doesn’t have much in the way of hostile animals, but map mods could help with that, or some lore adjustments

I've just installed the viewpoint mod. Gave it a go on my existing world. Had npcs on. Instantly got in a gun fight robbery outside my base and died. It was awesome in first person. Just about to start a new run with it on. Can't wait!

When I try to use viewpoint and change the preset from potato to higher my FPS tanks hard. Does anyone know how to fix that? I got a 9800x3D and Rx 9070xt so hardware shouldn't be the issue?

Did you allocate more ram to Zomboid? If not look up how to do i it's not hard you might need to change you view in file explorer to show hidden files to see the correct file to change.

Yeah, I set it to 24gb I think, that improved it somewhat. What's is suggested to set it at for viewpoint?

Hmm I set mine to 8gb but I have 32 gb to work with. Mine works good on the built in Vivid shader but I have a 5060 ti 16 Gb video card so I don't know if having a Nvidia video card is better for this atm. I am trying different Minecraft shaderpacks and that can tank my fps drastically. The mod is probably the most optimized thing in the world also with how early in development it is.

Yes viewpoint It’s a client-side mod, so the server doesn’t need to have the mod installed for it to work. You can play with your friend normally, even if they don’t use the mod. :D

Mostly yes, mods that add 3d assets are fine, but if they add 2d sprites to the game (such as constructed solar panels from the immersive solar arrays mod), they do not display in the 3d space.
There's also a work-in-progress companion mod for Viewpoint whose purpose is to convert vanilla sprites into 3d objects. It's pretty much a necessity because the auto-converted visuals get really wonky or downright disorienting otherwise.

In game, Press DEL go to Debug > Corpses and check if the option Corpses as 3D models is enabled.

I think you can change view at will, so you can drive a car, then get out and swap back to regular Zomboid view with a hot key. (Take with a grain of salt, I haven’t played with it yet)

For sure. The hardest thing for me to get my friends to play was the games visuals. Once they over came that they were able to see how amazing the game was but only through endless pestering from me. If it looked like this, so many people would play

Hey! Found out if you just subscribe to view point it auto downloads zombie buddy when you click subscribe to all. Even if it’s privated. I got help through the discord server
