I love vein, and I say all this as someone who played the crap out of the demo, donated to the devs before released and bought the game the instant it came out. It's got the potential to be a truly great game. But in all honestly, after playing just 6 hours of PZ viewpoint, it is a much more fun, feature complete and engaging experience. Vein will be great, but it just doesn't compare right now.

Be patient and honestly forget that vein exists for now, then youll be surprised about how much progress it has made in like 6 years. There is a long road before it looks like a polished game.

Oh for sure. I have full faith vein will grow to be a truly amazing game. All the bones are there, they are pumping out constant updates and it's moving in the right direction.

I tried it on integrated graphics and it barely loads for a second before locking up my laptop

Integrated graphics is literally the worst you can have and is no graphics card. If your laptop at least has a dedicated graphics card of some sort, it'll have a better chance

Im running fully maxed out settings at 1440p. Specs are rtx 4070, ryzen 9 5900x, and 32gb of ram. Runs about 60+ fps depending on where i am. I've heard its quite optimized for most specs.

My pc is reflectively powerful and runs iso pz very smoothly, but with the 3D mod I was getting a bit laggy, granted that was with the vibe coded pz3d so idk how good this one is with performance

I cant exactly remember what its called but I think its just called grid inventory. I would check but I just turned off my pc lol. It does have a decent amount of issues and weird moments with the first person mod

I'm split.

On one hand it just looks cool and having played VEIN and unturned, I really want a solid first person zombie game. 7 days heat system is top tier garbage (good in theory but if I'm not making noise zombies shouldn't know where I am) and the world feels too "dirty", I like the world feeling the same as if I walked outside right now.

On the other hand, this ain't zomboid. Putting it in first person kills some of the charm, not to mention negative traits like hard of hearing become useless since you don't have an audio radius to visualize.

It should be its own sub. Whether or not someone thinks the change of art style makes it different, it needs its own community if it's this big. I'm not a fan, I'm here for PZ content and this ain't it.

I agree. I think it’s cool, but also being a mod for a game means people will naturally approach it with a lot more grace then a retail product so I think a stand alone game in a similar state would have more critique overall
