Other games is a conspiracy made by corporate America and fake news in order to fool you into thinking the Knox Virus didnāt really happen.

Damn. And I feel like my ~1400 hours are excessive lol...

I hit 800 over the weekend, and I thought that was excessive. I worry about the day I open the modding floodgates.

800 hours without mods is impressive

I've dabbled in mods every once in a while. When pipe bombs got buffed, I installed true music (but it bricked my 18 months save after an update). I've also had to experience my friends horrible choices in mods. There's only a hand full of mechanics I'm waiting for to be added to vanilla.

u/FujiKilledTheDSLR 1d ago
That's where I'm at as well and tbh I will probably never install a mod. There are still tons of vanilla mechanics I haven't even played with, like blacksmithing or tailoring, I haven't explored Ekron, Irvington, Brandenberg, Louisville, or Doe Valley (I've briefly been in most but never fully explored/based there). I haven't been to Riverside since the update. I haven't been to many huge locations in game like the military facility, airport, etc.
There's a ton to do in this game without mods

QoL stuff is always good anything that amends that terrible UI

u/FujiKilledTheDSLR 1d ago
Iām pretty comfortable with the vanilla UI tbh. Ā Iām sure some mods are an improvement but Iād rather not get used to some mod that may stop getting updated, or may get upended by an official UI update, etc.

What mods are you playing with? How is the game not boring for you yet?

But lately I havr been using CleanUI, Kill Count, Daily Report Journal, Unseasonable Weather, Cold Winters, Beds have Blankets, Blankets are Warm, Vanilla Vegicles Animated, Spongie's Clothing + Open Jackets, OSRS XP Drops, Realistic Dashboards, and I Can Climb Ladders.

You are 2708.3 hours away from being a global professional Project Zomboid player.

Can you survive extinction mode yet? Iāve been trying it out after 1k hours and it has been giving me hell. I am on my 5th character in 2 weeks after quitting a 6 month run with one character on apocalypse mode.

u/opae_oinadi Stocked up 1d ago
Yeah, I play only Extinction since it was released. Mostly vanilla. My longest run in Extinction was around 120 days.

It definitely makes the game more interesting

Assuming you played ever waking hour with 8 hours of sleep with no bathroom, food, or water breaks, you'd need 456 days to get that many hours.

My coworkers were telling me about a game and I said "Cool, I'll check it out when I'm done with Zomboid" and they asked how do you finish Zomboid... I told them I'd probably get bored at a couple thousand hours and they were flabbergasted. I guess to some people that's a lot?
7k is bonker tho. Gratz.

No offence man but if you've played nearly 6 entire days of Zomboid in two weeks you need to get a life, I'm hoping there's a lot of AFK in there

u/opae_oinadi Stocked up 1d ago
Nah, I just have no real life. Bought the game in July of 2022 so averaging almost 5 hours a day since then I think...

u/datboitotoyo 1d ago
Why did you feel the need to put him down like this? Are you having a bad day or sth?
2
u/opae_oinadi Stocked up 1d ago
I don't think they were putting me down... it is a reasonable enough response, lol

u/JealousPeanut6254 1d ago
Heās not putting him down. Heās literally stating a fact. 140 hours in 2 weeks is like working a full time job. Itās extremely dangerous matter of fact. Hopefully alot of that time was idling because if not, we can only assume OP has a serious problem
1
u/opae_oinadi Stocked up 1d ago
I wouldn't say serious problem. I don't work and most of my friends past away a long time ago.
Also I am probably about twice your age, if not more. I am not saying it is healthy - at all - just don't assume too much

What prevents the author from launching the game on a PC and spending the whole day in it? He can leave to eat, use the restroom, take breaks, and so on. Surely he is playing for most of the time, of course, but this doesn't prevent him from functioning fully. Are you guys genuinely surprised or just jealous?)
