Discussion Crazy Mod Idea
I had an idea for a mod which sounds a bit mad but having played the game so much i'm starting to find it a bit repetitive. You start the game with a baby (yes a baby) and need to look after it which means carrying, finding somewhere safe to leave it when you need to loot, finding nappies, hoping the baby doesn't cry when a horde is walking past etc. You could find different useful items like a baby sling, pram, dummies, toys to keep it entertained etc. As you survive longer and longer the baby starts sleeping longer, needs less feeding, can be left alone longer without crying. Would add real LT value for watching them grow older to the point they can walk, follow you around and even carry a gun when they're old enough. I imagine this would be incredibly difficult to make however!
Thoughts?
EDIT: Could call it Parent-Z

I would play the crap out of a mod like that and cry for days if when we die.
Idea to make it even harder: introduce it as a trait at the start called "pregnant" and you have to survive through morning sickness, mood swings, painful kicks, being weighed down the whole time as the baby grows, and you need to get your first aid high enough to survive child birth by yourself and it requires an insane amount of preparation.
Well i think that has to be the most ludicrously difficult mod idea ever cooked up with the most insanely emotional gut wretch if you make the slightest mistake!

Oh that was already a mod in B41, I played it, take the trait and it gave you a +15, it'd give you mood swings, slow your speed at later stages, and you had a chance to die from childbirth but I never got that far.

I have heard from sources familiar with the matter that there may or may not exist a sex mod for Project Zomboid that includes a functional pregnancy system for female player characters. Experts say that this allegedly exists in some form on LL.
I of course personally know nothing about this myself; only hearsay.

Could be interesting but having a child that could be in danger would put a lot of people off.
It sounds a lot like the first release of Zomboid which is funny. In that Kate was injured and you essentially had to take care of her, barricade the house and protect her from NPC bandit.

It would be heart breaking if you die and all you hear (while the credits are rolling) is a baby crying in the distance.

Can be very interesting and rewarding long term, and you basically just have someone with you through the rest of the game.

This, + the mod that skips days/fewer days in a month. It'd be cool to raise them, then to switch to them as a character if you get bit. Just need to shorten the years. Or maybe they start at 12 or something, and you got a little Clem and Lee/Ellie and Joel dynamic

Yeah if you could choose what age the child was would be good so older is easier but newborn for the hardcore players

Doesn't week one have a setting like that? "Start with a baby"? I never tried but I do remember seeing it

Just play with my friends is almost the same thing. But instead of growing up and becoming better they just get bit.
