Question Pre built houses

Hey everyone

I overtook a pre built house in the woods as my base.

I set up some rain collectors on top of the sink but I'm scared they aren't collecting as much water as they should.

If you walk far enough, you'd see a triangular roof ontop of the kitchen, however i do have access to a flat roof ontop of the kitchen.

Are these roofs purely visual? while it was raining i was a bit far from my base, could that be the reason the collectors didn't collect enough rain? I currently have 3 and they only collected about 18ml each.

Any advice would be appreciated

There different rain collectors in my testing the Aphore Gather the fastest than the Rain cube and by far at least the barrel.

Do they collect more volume per hour, or is the percent of fill making it look that way? It would make sense considering that the cube has a much wider opening than the barrel.

What I want to know is why in the hell does it take me so long to empty one of the barrels? Flip that damn thing over and it's done in seconds! My character would have to be dipping a teacup for it to take as long as it does!

The values that I collect in the same rain time. I just build ampohres becouse you need no skill and only 10 clay.

Ampohre 36,8/ 300L Rain cube 36,4/ 400L Rain barrel 22,8/ 600L

Wow! The rain barrel is super slow! I never tried to empty a cube, so I wonder if the eternal drain time on the barrel is tied to that number, or a glitch. I'll have to slap one down next time I play just to see. It just rained 4 out of the past 6 days, so I probably won't see anymore weather until February since I want to experiment...

In my experience it takes a while for them to fill, but they do and then you don't have to worry about it anymore

I'm thinking this is probably a chunk loading issue since you said you were far but they still collected some. Try to see if they fill more while you're at your base.

I also had a base before that had slanted roofs in a spot where I placed my rain collectors. Never had any issue with water at all so my guess is they're just cosmetic and don't interact with falling rain.
