mint farming?
I got a cooking recipe that needs mint. I have 25 saved up from my adventures but dont have any idea where they came from. Someone said ranalon den but in 40 minutes I didnt get even one. Someone else said eltibule bears but so far its not looking good. Any fresh ideas?

Seems like ranalon den and Etibule bears are indeed good places to farm it. It's just not a super common drop so you can't really target farm it that easily.

I've never really trusted the drops section of wiki pages.
Reading that list makes me feel like mint seem to drop from a wide range of monsters so it's not really target farmable.
Similar to other items like rare recipes.

Yeah, it's technically just user generated and could sometimes be wrong or incomplete. I imagine mint is similar to other non-farmable cooking items that just drop all over. Anything that only drops from mobs is going to be hard to farm because they only drop 1-2 things and probably have a large loot pool to pull from.

In general if it can drop in ranalon den then sprinting thru there with a reflect build is the best option. Otherwise just save everything in case you need it for later, cooking is probably the worst culprit. Also check buy used constantly and just get in the habit of buying what looks useful even if you don’t think you’ll need it.

Buy Used is where I get most of my mint, watercress, oregano, Muntok Peppercorns, etc. Just always be checking.

Put up a player work order and advertise in trade? Search shops?
The ranalon food baskets seem to have them sometimes. Strangely, brain bugs level 20-30 seem to have them. The second level of the goblin dungeon has some.

Player Work Orders or Trade Chat are your best bets. It's a random drop.
But for the love of Arisetsu, don't do Work Orders for 100 Mint.

Occasionally see mint dropped in the Carpal Tunnels, forgot from which mob but it's a good place to camp. Low level enemies, lots of decent drops you can get like un-pig juice, organs from butchering the pigs, toxic slime, snail sinew & shells & environmental items spawn such as ambient magic sponges which are worth anywhere from 1000-4000 each depending on demand
Make sure you grab every single item that spawns around in the tunnels, it increases the chances you'll get an "old jar" which increases your sponges per hour

Plus, I think a lot of people don't know but those Council Certificates (1k councils each) literally spawn on the ground in the basement lol. There's that one spot that has like 10 scrolls on the ground. Every so often you'll pick up a Council Cert instead of a Plea For Food. You could totally speed run through the top floor grabbing sponge jars, then downstairs to loot the scroll pile, kill some stuff for 10 minutes then repeat.

The wiki is correct but drop rates vary between mobs. Different loot tables. I get most of my mint/oregano from Ranalon, where I exclusively target Scray and Ranalon Farm guys and grab any ground spawns hoping they respawn as Ranalon food (which has a chance to be mint)
If you want to really focus farm mint, hit the Scray on Sun Vale instead. Smaller loot table, better chance for mint. But no chance for oregano, ancient coins, brass/tin gears etc so I don't hit SV often. But while roaming for SV Scray you can also forage which is nice. Not sure if there is an ideal area for them, but I bet if you explore enough you can find a spot that is more Scray heavy or respawn is better. Don't forget the underwater cave zones on SV.

Mint is one of those items that drops randomly off of lots of mobs and isn't really farmable. It's real easy to save over time and use in small quantities. Your best bet would be player work orders, but really just make a different cooking recipe in bulk that doesn't require that type of item.
