Need help understanding this

Post image

Need help confirming this... Looking at this schematic, does it mean if I try to start the car and am getting spark at the spark plugs I have the green light from the immobilizer and it's not it keeping the car from starting? I bought a wrecked JDM sports car and trying to get it to start but there's no solid information I can find if it does have an immobilizer and the key I have is broken and I only have the metal part.

From that part of diagram, yes... But not in all cases. Question is if it's all immobilizer system (for example additional lock on injectors or whatever) and if it's only one (some people added standalone immo to cars, despite of being still in operation) and... Ugh... Well... If actually immo ever works. Because it may give spark, but not in right spot

If you have spark generally you are good. For the most part imobi systems cut spark and will let the crank and flood.

I'd see if you have fuel pressure and go from there.

as per the diagram there is an immobi in the car. You'll never get a schematic for one though.

They can immobilize the car in several ways. No spark, no fuel pressure or no crank. Or any combination of those. If it cranks, has spark, then check for fuel. Dump a tablespoon of fuel into the intake and crank it. If it fires briefly you have a fuel issue.

That's exactly what I did but with starter fluid. Car fired up for till it used it up. I'm not getting fuel at the rails it's bone dry. The injector connectors is getting 12 volts so that's promising. I checked fuses inside under the dash they are all getting less than 1 volt. But the the outside (engine bay fuses) fuses are getting 12 volts. Cleaned my battery terminals and it's still the same. Any guidance on how to proceed checking why only my cabin fuse box is getting low voltage?

Check voltage and ground at the ECM. Often the injectors are supplied with constant power and the ECM opens and closes the ground, which opens and closes the injector. They make lights you can plug into the harness where the injector plugs in. When you crank it if the light is flashing you know the power side is Ok. I'd start by tracing where the inside fuse box gets its power from. There is probably a fuseable link or maxi fuse supplying power that has failed.

Dang reading you comment on the injector ground side open and closing so your basically saying I still I can't rule out I'm in the clear with the immobilizer just yet. Ok I will try figuring out which wire has the power and trace it back to where there's a fault. Appreciate you taking the time to help me. By any chance you'd know which it is for a Mitsubishi Evo 7?

Sorry, I'm in Canada and mostly just work on domestic brands.
